I love my job at Starbucks. I think that the most interesting thing about working at a coffee shop is that you see people come and go, in a hurry or taking their time, in route to their dream jobs, or maybe even just a job period. Families traveling on weekends, business meetings, first dates, anything. Some days it gets really busy in the store and my coworkers and I have a few things that we especially despise. There are many struggles that only other baristas would understand about the days in the life of working at Starbucks. Here are just a few:
1. “Oh, I wanted that iced” The struggle is real.
2. “So I want a Grande decaf skinny vanilla latte 180 degrees no foam stirred extra hot with cinnamon powder on top and remember absolutely no foam. And some caramel drizzle. Decaf.
3. Can you cut that sandwich in two? Can you divide that Venti double chocolatey chip frap into 3 separate cups??
4. Pulls up to drive through “What can I get for you today?” “Uhm...” *Ten billion years later * “I’ll have…. Uhm…”

5. Can I have a Grande no foam Cappuccino?
6. Impatient Entitled Person: “Are you making my drink RIGHT NOW????”
7. Customer leans over bar and watches your every move like a hawk.
8. Orders one tall coffee. Hands you $100 bill
9. *Spills hot milk all over self*
10. Accumulation of vanilla syrup, chai and mocha all over body. Very sticky.
All in all, you get some bad customers, but you also interact with some really nice ones. It makes working a whole lot better. Oh, and I love coffee.
