Surgery is never fun, nor are the days to follow! If you've had surgery then you know what it's like in the few days of freedom before the surgery day comes and takes over for the next few weeks.

If you've had surgery, you know about the waiting game, the pain and the sense of boredom that comes from being stuck in bed all day! If you have never had surgery before-- consider yourself very lucky and use these stages to help be there for your friends and family! Pay them a visit and help cure their boredom!

1. That's gonna hurt.

After seeing those stitches you have to be thinking, man that's gonna hurt later- especially once the anesthesia wears off! Thank goodness for pain meds- well unless those don't settle well.

2. I FEEL NOTHING!

Thank goodness for anesthesia and pain meds. But seriously I feel great, a little groggy and sleepy but I have no pain!

3. Relaxation time!

After working all summer, finally, some time to relax and have a Netflix date! This can be a great thing to look forward to, and a great thing for the first day but being stuck in the house gets boring and after a few days you will want to go adventure outside!

4. Okay, the pain is kicking in...

Yeah, things are starting to be felt, sleep is getting difficult but we know after this stage is under control it will be all uphill. Once the pain is manageable we can go do stuff with friends right??

5. Bored..

As I have been bored post surgery I have made a list of things I can do from the couch:

Pinterest, read a book, continually nap because you can't sleep at night, lots of Netflix, movie rentals, doodle, FaceTime your friends, online shopping, stare out the window and wish you were in a hammock. Let me tell you, as great as these things may seem while you are at work, after a few days it just doesn't cut it-- especially when you enjoy living a very busy life!

6. Real Friends

Recovery time is tough when you can't go places or hang out with friends. But, something that surgery shows you is who your real friends are. It is a life lesson that proves which friends will have your back, and who truly care about you! Thank you to everyone who comes and visits, for the love over texts and for simply checking in on us! Also, friends help cure stage number 5 in case you were wondering how you could help! Thank you, friends, who will come and sit with us even though we can't do anything fun!

7. Annoying

As nice as it may sound to have your family wait on you hand and foot, after a while, you feel helpless and annoying. Here's a big thanks to family and friends who have put up with my shenanigans and who have been by my side!

8. Doctor Check Ups

Can't forget bandage changes, taking the stitches out and checking on the healing! Gotta love the 8 AM appointments when you barely slept the night before. Now, if we were walking into Grey's Anatomy scenes for these check up's then it wouldn't be so bad!

9. The waiting game

"Just a few more days" is the best way to start your appointment off- don't we just love playing the waiting game. Waiting to drive again, waiting to participate in sports and just to live life off your couch!

10. Missing out on fun activities

Continually convincing yourself that you are having plenty of fun at home!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
