I regret everything.

With Thanksgiving break fast approaching, many different emotions come to mind. The nice little break from outside pressures is much needed for anyone feeling overworked at their job or at school, but the time off definitely comes with its own ups and downs. Some relaxation time, plenty of food, and endless store deals sound incredible, but it's clear that there are some other stress inducing components to this holiday's festivities that can be perfectly summed up by the NBC comedy, Parks and Recreation.

1. Excitement

The anticipation to get home and prepare for all the different things you'll be doing this upcoming extended weekend is crazy. The first order of business is usually trying to figure out Thanksgiving Eve plans with all of your best friends that you haven't had much time to see lately. You have lots to catch up on and a solid amount of free time to do whatever you want.

2. Refreshed

Whether you went out the night before the actual holiday or not, you most likely tried your best to sleep in since you can't do that most days. Plus, you'll need all the rest you can get before having to go to a family gathering and transitioning right into the Black Friday craze.

3. Annoyed

While seeing relatives can be nice, you'll also have to deal with the inevitable life questions you answer every year. Are you in a relationship? How's school going? Any job prospects? Anything relating to your love life or future is enough to cause a huge headache, especially when other family members around your age seem to be excelling in all areas.

4. Starvation

Every year the people in charge of cooking promise you'll eat at a decent hour, and every year they are so horribly wrong. Catching up with relatives will work up an appetite and smelling the delicious dinner being made is excruciating when you know you still have hours to go. All of the finger foods laid out aren't doing the trick, and the more you shove down your throat, the more you seem to worry you won't be able to save room for dinner anyway. It's a hard time.

5. Thankful (for food)

There's nothing better than finally being told to take your place at the table. I'm always the first one there, eagerly gathering food on my plate. If there's anything I'm thankful for on Thanksgiving Day, it's mashed potatoes. You can bet I'll be having seconds and probably even thirds.

6. Full beyond belief

Of course, I overeat and hate myself for it immediately. I can't imagine ever wanting to eat food again. Why do I do this to myself every Thanksgiving dinner? Will I ever learn? Probably not.

7. Ready to shop

Time to work off that carb overload by shopping 'til you drop. DEALS DEALS DEALS! The only reason I will ever willingly wake up early.

8. Broke

Despite stores having some awesome sales, I can go overboard and spend waaay too much money on useless items. It reminds me why I need that job I'm on break from in the first place.

9. Making the most of the time left

After Black Friday, it certainly feels like this holiday break has flown by. You can either go back out and party with your friends, spending the little money you still have, or stay in and take a breather after all the socializing you've been doing. Either way, you need to use this time wisely because Monday will be here before you know it.

10. Back to reality

Time for responsibilities again! You're now five pounds heavier and five hundred dollars poorer. Now all you can do is count down and wait for Christmas.

At least there's Cyber Monday to look forward to!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
