For Chicago kids and some lucky visitors, the last weekend in July doesn’t just mean the end of the month: it means Lollapalooza, one of the biggest music festivals in the United States. This year, headliners included Paul McCartney, Kygo, Florence and the Machine, Kid Cudi and Sam Smith. #all #the #feels.
Stage one: Getting your wristband in the mail.
Never has a colorful bracelet seemed so precious.
Stage two: The unbelievable, and very real stress that comes with finding an outfit that’s just basic enough to be perfect. Flower headband? Flash tats? Crop top? You hate yourself for it, but you do it anyway.
Stage three: The night before. Know that feeling on Christmas Eve, when the whole world is quiet, peaceful and waiting for the day ahead? Yup. Chicago gets that twice a year.
Stage four: Waking up way too early on Friday to get ~ready~.
SHOW ME THE GLITTER.
Stage five: Heading downtown for the pregame. It’s GO TIME.
Stage six: Making it past the gates with the crew, and taking it all in.
Stage seven: Hopping from show to show to show until your phone battery, stomach and dignity are practically depleted.
(And you’ve never in your life been so thirsty.)
Stage eight: Rejuvenating your soul with some hippie food and a quick nap (read: dying and coming back to life).
Stage nine: Plowing through the last couple of bands—and before you know it, it’s time for the ~*HeAdLiNeR*~.
Stage 10: Getting home, exhausted and happy—already thinking about when you’re going to wake up and do it ALL. OVER. AGAIN.
