10 Songs That You Should Listen To In The Fall

Every season has its songs. Here are some that are either actually about the Fall or remind me of Fall in some ludicrous, moronic way:

1. We're Going to be Friends - The White Stripes

Definitely my favorite Fall song as it reminds me of being a kid when nothing mattered except going to elementary school and seeing your friends!

2. Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green Day

"Wake Me Up When Fall Starts", duh. Also, the first line is "Summer has come and passed." Classic Fall song.

3. September - Earth, Wind & Fire

I cannot stop laughing at how funny this video is. Yeah I know I'm just a dumb college kid but those clothes combined with those dance moves are killing me. Easily one of the catchiest songs I have ever heard that just makes you want to dance (even though I can't stand disco).

4. October - Broken Bells

The name of the song is October and the month of October is in the season of Fall. Other than a few lines, that's about all the Fall that comes with this one. It's a sad song but it's good to listen to while walking around during this time of the year.

5. Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground - The White Stripes

Man, Jack White must either really love or hate Fall. Normally musicians write about the things or people that really get to them (Hi Adele I'm talking about you. Oh you don't know Adele? Well she has an entire 17 song album about a breakup. Can you say crazy ex-girlfriend?) or about things that they love and are passionate about. Dead leaves and the dirty ground are basically what Fall is so yeah, go Jack White.

6. Falling Down - Atreyu

I like to think that a leaf wrote this song to a person. I think about a leaf that has fallen out of a tree and is halfway to the ground. This leaf is saying to a person: "You're looking over your shoulder staring down the path" and then follows that line by yelling "I'm falling down" three times as its falling to the ground.

7. Sweater Weather - The Neighborhood

Fall is the time of the year when it starts to become cool enough that you can wear sweaters, and what's more comfortable than a sweater? I don't really wear them that much... but maybe I should buy more because damn are they comfy.

8. Cold Day In The Sun - Foo Fighters

One of my favorite songs by one of the greatest bands of all-time, and Dave Grohl doesn't even sing it. Taylor Hawkins does, congratulations Taylor you made the list *clap clap clap*. I've experienced a lot of cold days in the sun during the Fall season in my life so I couldn't think of a better song to choose to represent them.

9. Do You Remember - Jack Johnson

Jack Johnson is a musical god. Almost all of his songs are perfect for the Fall but I picked this one because it felt the most Fally (just an awful made up word). If you don't currently listen to Jack Johnson I recommend that you start to. (Hey guys, girls love Jack Johnson *hint hint*).

10. Autumn Leaves Are Falling Down - The Kiboomers

Hello VMA's.

Honorable Mentions: All Falls Down - Kanye West Free Fallin' - Tom Petty

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
