Back in the days of innocence ofTeam Edward vs. Team Jacob and the freaking out about new Jonas Brothers CD, we thought we were living the best days of our lives. Texting was a brand new frontier to us and the peace sign and overly photoshopped pictures on our Myspace was our life. However nothing compared than a Friday afternoon in your gym, dancing and jamming out to these classic middle school dance songs.

This was a song that you sang your heart out to while holding your BFF's hand and staring at the boy who was obviously with the wrong girl. That's right I'm talking to you Jimmy!

2. Jesse McCartney, "Beautiful Soul"

Not only was Jesse McCartney your first crush, but this song made you feel special and wanted which is what every 12 year old girl loves to feel.

3. Lil Jon, "Get Low"

As soon as the song came on you were no longer in your small middle school gym. You were transported to the club and that water bottle you were holding suddenly turned into alcohol and the dance battles emerged.

3. Jason Aldean, "Big Green Tractor"

You fought to make eye contact with Timmy, Jimmy's best friend and you pulled him in nice and close. Until the chaperones came around told you to make sure to "Leave room for Jesus."

This song meant war with your friends. Sally you think you can get low? Nah girl. Watch this.

5. Kelis, "Milkshake"

You moved your hips in ways you didn't know you could. Now looking back at it, you realized what a mistake that was.

This song was the perfect excuse for you to run out and grab a quick breather and still come back and continue to kill it on the dance floor.

Yeah, Jimmy this is one for you. Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?

You grabbed all your girlfriends and sang your lungs out while you jumped up and down. The stamina you had boy I'll tell ya what.

Knowing all the words and keeping up with Mel B made you feel like a boss.

10. The Jonas Brothers, "Year 3000"

This was the golden age of boy bands and the Jonas Brothers were your babes. Year 3000 came on and it closed out the dance but it didn't matter because you just had the best Friday afternoon of your life.

Life was much simpler back in middle school, other than the whole puberty thing, it was all pretty okay. It's always nice to take a ride down memory lane and remember the days you so badly wanna block out forever.
