Always remember the most popular song might not always be the best one...

I would like to consider myself as a pretty avid music lover and listener. I listen to full albums before I judge the artist based on their "popular single" or in other words the one that reaches the top charts and gets played on the radio. Sometimes though I listen to the songs that got popular off an album and just think why, I think there are so many better songs on the album then the one that got popular? So today I would like to take the time to introduce you to some songs you may not have heard of because another song on an album got popular over these ones.

1. "93 Million Miles" by Jason Mraz

While "I Won't Give Up" did great on the charts off of Mraz's "Love Is A Four Letter Word" album, "93 Million Miles..." not so much. This tune though has all the qualities to be a hit; catchy, upbeat, and a good message.

2. "End Of The Day" by One Direction

Now don't get me wrong, One Direction's album "Made In The A.M." is genius and pretty much every song on it is gold. However, I think the song "End Of The Day" should have gotten a little more attention. It's a freaking catchy song. I have no idea why it was never a single and never played on the radio because it would have done great.

3. "The Feeling" by Justin Bieber (feat. Halsey)

JB did amazing with his comeback album, no one can deny that. He had multiple singles on the radio all hitting the top charts. Making me wonder a little why they would try to make this song a single, too... I mean c'mon, it's catchy and it even has Halsey in it?! Everyone loves Halsey!

4. "The Judge" by Twenty One Pilots

Honestly, any song off the "Blurryface" album would have been better for a single than "Stressed Out," literally any of them. Rant over.

5. "Body Heat" by Selena Gomez

I really love "Hands to Myself" of Selena's "Revival" album. So I don't necessarily think she picked the wrong song to make a single. I also really love this song, though, and think it should have at least gotten more attention.

6. "I'm A Mess" by Ed Sheeran

I'm a huge fan of anything that Ed Sheeran does really and this song is a work of pure genius. Not that "Sing", "Don't," "Thinking Out Loud," and "Photograph" weren't great songs off of his album "X." But I still would have picked "I'm A Mess" over any of the singles.

7. "Land Of Opportunity" by A Great Big World

This song is off the same album as the famous "Say Something" single. Which, quite frankly, I'm not sure why it got so popular because it's so freaking depressing. "Land of Opportunity" is... well, everything that song is not: catchy, upbeat, positive and makes you not want to cry.

8. "Like Real People Do" by Hozier

This song is off the same album as "Take Me To Church." While not nearly as upbeat as "Take Me To Church," "Like Real People Do" still has a certain quality to it that I feel could've been a hit. Its slow mellow vibes reach into your heart and bring out a deep appreciation for the song and artist.

9. "Work this Body" by Walk The Moon

"Shut Up and Dance" off of WTM's album "Talking Is Hard" is catchy for sure, but I think Walk The Moon's song "Work This Body" could have definitely been a single as well.

10. "Things We lost In The Fire" by Bastille

You guys remember that song "Pompeii" from a couple years back? This song is off the same album. It's quite catchy and vibrant and (just to follow the trend I've been setting) should have been a single.

So listen to these songs today along with your Discovery Weekly on Spotify. New music is great music. You won't be disappointed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
