Top 40 radio stations such as 94.1 and 96.1 have been overplaying the shit out of every song they come across since their inception. Whether you listen to these stations, or you think they are the devil in disguise (me), I think we can all agree there are certain songs released in 2016 that we have had enough of. With that being said, here are the 10 most overplayed songs of 2016, in no particular order:
1. Work by Rihanna (feat. Drake)

2. Can't Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake
Is it just me, or are Justin's eyes screaming "help me"? I disliked this song B.R. and A.R., so there's not much else to say except that I "can't stop the feeling" of wanting to be punched in the face every time this song plays.
3. Stitches by Shawn Mendes
4. Hello by Adele
It's okay, Adele. I can find a place in my heart to forgive you, even if your song trained me to cringe when I hear the word "hello". B.R. I wasn't crazy about this song, so naturally, A.R. my ears bleed every time I hear it. Goodbye, Adele.
5. Closer by the Chainsmokers (feat. Halsey)
6. Me Myself and I by G-Eazy (feat. Bebe Rexha)
Is anyone else creeped out by the multiple G-Eazy's gesturing angrily towards them? B.R. I enjoyed the song, but it wasn't my favorite off of his album, When It's Dark Out. A.R., I couldn't stand it, and I think most of my aversion for this song stems from bitterness that this song made G-Eazy a mainstream artist. That, and the fact that Bebe sounds like she is yodeling in the beginning.
7. Cake by the Ocean by DNCE
Don't get me wrong, I was just as thrilled as the next guy by Joe Jonas's return to music (for the 3rd time). However, I don't understand what the title of this song means, and I don't think Joe knows either. B.R. I could jam to this song, it was cute and fun. A.R. it is not cute, nor fun, just simply annoying as hell.
8. What Do You Mean by Justin Bieber
Don't look so glum, Justin. You knew this was coming. Personally, I devoured every track off Justin's album, Purpose. B.R. I didn't mind that Justin wanted to know what I meant. A.R., I got sick of him asking me all the time and I just wanted it to stop.
9. Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots
This handshake, just like this song, it pretty epic. But, we should all know how it goes by now: the radio ruins every good thing it touches. B.R. I couldn't get enough of this song and it's infectious tune. A.R. I was stressed out whenever it played. Twenty One Pilots, I love you. Radio, I hate you.
10. 7 Years by Lukas Graham
I have no idea what Lukas is doing above, but I enjoy it, just as I enjoyed this song B.R. I found it heartfelt and touching. A.R. I found it repetitive and whiney. Thanks again, radio, it will have to be 7 years before I can listen to this song again.
Well, there you have it, the 10 most overplayed songs of 2016, in my humble opinion. Don't worry, the radio stations will strike again in 2017, and we will all be able to listen to these songs again without our ears bleeding profusely. At least one good thing came out of 2016: no new music from Taylor Swift. I would like to thank not only God, but Jesus that we did not have to endure this:
