10 Songs To Listen To By My Chemical Romance

With the anniversary of the Black Parade coming up, I thought this would be a perfect time to talk about my ten favorite My Chemical Romance Songs. My Chemical Romance is a band from New Jersey. They were together for 12 years. They broke up three years ago on March 22 2013. This date went down in infamy as the day that everyone died a little inside who was a part of the MCRmy. Earlier in the summer, their record label pulled a stunt by making all of us think that My Chemical Romance was getting back together and turned out they were just promoting the 10th anniversary of The Black Parade. This ripped the scab off of the wound that had healed up. People were heart broken. But the band hand nothing to do with this. Now, the members are doing their own thing. Gerard Way is writing comics and he is doing his own musical career with an album titled “Hesitant Alien”. His brother Mikey Way plays bass for anyone who needs it. Ray Toro is doing his own solo career. Frank Iero has his own band and he’s going on tour soon which I am going to see on September 16th.

  1. "Welcome To The Black Parade".
To me, this song is about letting go and accepting that someone has died and is passing on into the afterlife.
  2. "Teenagers".
Gerard wrote this after seeing how teenagers acted on a train. It is known that Gerard is afraid of teenagers. To me, this is also about how teenagers treat their peers.
  3. "Cancer".
I took this song as being about losing someone to cancer and watching them wither away to nothing.
  4. "Ghost Of You".
This is about knowing that someone is gone out of your life but you don’t want to accept it and it is hard for you to accept it.
  5. "House Of Wolves".
In my perspective, this is about locking yourself in a relationship that you know is not good for you. But you are afraid of how people will view you for leaving that person.
  6. "Famous Last Words".
When I listen to this song, I take it as you want to be remembered for something good. You should make your last words count. Make your last words memorable.
  7. "Helena".
To me, this song is about losing someone to a car crash. There is a line from the song that hints to a car crash. “When both our cars Collide. What’s the worst thing I could say? Things are better if I stay. So long and Good Night.”
  8. "I’m Not Okay".
This song is about admitting that you are not okay and that you need help. It is known that Gerard had a drug and alcohol problem. I believe this was one of his break thru moments.
  9. "Sing".
To me, Sing is about reaching out and changing what you want to change. We all want to change the world but we do nothing to change it. In the song they talk about protecting what tomorrow brings because others want to take it away.
  10. "May Death Never Stop You".
This talks about never letting the end stop you. Just because something comes to an end doesn’t mean that you should stop fighting for it. That just means to try harder to achieve what you want.

These are my top 10 favorite My Chemical Romance Songs and what they mean to me. I know that the band will never get back together but that doesn’t mean that I have to stop loving them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
