Lately, I've really been into listening to covers and renditions of popular songs. I wanted a new voice to listen to, but still be able to sing along. Over the past couple weeks, I've been on the hunt for the best covers out there and these are what I found.

1. 679 & No Diggity - Jackson Breit

Whether you like Fetty Wap's "679" or not, you will LOVE Jackson's cover of it. He takes a chill, fun and soulful approach to the song and mixes it with Blackstreet's "No Diggity." This song will have you dancing along to every beat and playing it on repeat all day!

2. Sexy and I Know It - Noah Guthrie

This song is so sexy, and he definitely knows it. This is an amazing acoustic version of LMFAO's pop song. Noah brings so much passion to the song and it will leave you feeling as sexy as the song is.

3. True Colors - Stan Taylor

Youtuber Stan Taylor is known for doing covers of popular songs, and with 300,000+ views per video, it's clear people like what he's doing. He keeps The Weeknd's "True Colors" just as sensual and personal while adding in a beautiful raspy voice to the high notes. I'm constantly listening to it on repeat while I do my homework or doing my makeup.

4. Despacito - Madilyn Bailey & Leroy

We all know "Despacito" was the song of the summer, so I don't need to sell you on the fact that it's already a must-listen-to song. However, their voices together take an aggressively sexy song and turn it into a soft, sensual jam to listen to with bae while cuddling in bed.

5. Hallelujah - Pentatonix

We already and love the group that made Acapella cool, Pentatonix. You've already listened to their covers of Beyonce, Bohemian Rhapsody, and songs throughout the years, but have you listened to their Christmas album? Well, it's breathtaking. "Hallelujah" will give you chills every time.

6. I See Fire, Burn - Megan & Jaclyn Davies

These sisters are the ultimate #sistergoals. They are so musically talented and you'll fall in love with their voices. This chill and acoustic mashup of songs is perfect for listening to when you're just trying to relax on your own, snuggled up in bed with a cup of hot chocolate, or scrolling through Pinterest for ideas for your future wedding.

7. Felices Los 4 - Carolina Garcia

Okay, you probably don't even know the original to this, but it's "Felices Los 4" by Maluma, a Colombian singer who is very popular in Central and South America, and in Spain. The original is upbeat and you can't help but move your hips to the music, but Carolina's rendition slows it down and adds piano music, perfect for getting into your feels. Highly recommend both the original and the cover of this song.

8. Halo - Lotte Kestner

If you don't love Beyonce's "Halo" then you are lying to yourself, and if you don't love Lotte's cover of it...you're lying to yourself again. Both get you right in your feels and make you think of that special someone, and make you feel so calm and so in love.

9. Castle On The Hill - Tyler Ward

His cover of "Castle on the Hill" is about as perfect as his smile! It's the kind of song that makes a perfect sunny day even more perfect and makes you smile the entire walk to your next class.

10. Crazy In Love - Sophia Karlberg

What was once a hella fierce pump up song has now turned into the most intense and sensual song ever. It will have you feeling like you are the most mysterious and sexy woman in the world. She slows down the song and that's what brings the vibrant intensity to it. This should have been the cover song for 50 Shades of Grey, it's just that sexy.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
