We all know (or are) a person who is constantly beating around the bush. Coming out-front and speaking their mind is a rare occasion, getting a direct answer from them is nearly impossible and trying to figure out if/why they are upset is always a struggle, but you love your wonderful passive-aggressive babies regardless. Now, if you're reading this and thinking, "wait, is that me?" here are 10 signs that you are the passive-aggressive friend.
1. You never ask for what you really want.
You just kind of hint at it until the person you're talking to gets the idea.
2. Saying what you really mean is not really an option.
"I'm fine" is pretty much your catch phrase, because saying anything else can lead to conflict, and...
3. ...you hate conflict and avoid it like the flu.
But if there is any conflict, your method of problem-solving is making subtle, sassy remarks until someone picks up on your discontentment.
4. "What do you want to do?" is the most difficult question ever.
I mean, Heaven forbid you say you want to go to the movies and your friend low-key wants to go rollerblading.
5. Riding in other peoples' cars is a struggle.
The air is on too high, the music is too loud, the driver is too fast, but it's totally fine.
6. Having to ask for a favor is a total nightmare.
What if people start to think you're too needy and get tired of being your friend?
7. The only think worse than needing a favor is getting asked a favor.
No, you don't want to help your friend carry their furniture up three flights of stairs, but you already used the babysitting excuse last night and how do you say no...?
8. When someone you hate talks to you, it kills a piece of you inside.
All you can think is, "I hate you. I hate you. I hate you," but all you can say is, "Omg, I love your shoes!"
9. When things aren't going your way, it's time to break out the sticky notes.
Maybe if I put this "please take out the trash" note on the fridge, my roommate will get the hint that I am sick of her crap and that I'm going to scream if she doesn't pick up some slack around the apartment.
10. When you talk to your friends, you're quick to say you'll fight someone, but you silently pray they don't try to pick a fight.
You talk a big game, but if someone tries to hit you, you'll snitch in a heartbeat.
