10 Signs You Have A Younger Sister

Siblings: you can't live with them, but you can't live without them. If you're a girl with a little sister, you know exactly what I'm talking about. From heated battles to heart-to-hearts, sisterhood is one hell of a ride. Here are 10 feelings that every older sister knows far too well (with a couple pics of my sister and I for good measure).

1. Your clothes mysteriously go missing.

Many fights have broken out over who gets to wear a coveted shirt or dress. And if your sister wears it without your permission, there will be hell to pay.

2. Spring cleaning is easy.

You never have to worry about driving to Good Will to donate all of your old clothes, or throwing out all of the makeup you no longer use. Just dump it all in your sister's room. It's her problem now.

3. Your parents think she's an angel, but you know the truth.

Okay, so maybe she learned a little bit from the mistakes she watched you make growing up. Maybe she gets into less trouble than you do, but that doesn't change the fact that she's an absolute demon when your parents turn their backs.

4. She has some of the same problems that you once had.

Some mistakes seem to just be unavoidable. You get a little bit of satisfaction in knowing that your seemingly-perfect sister still experiences some of the same pitfalls that you got caught up in at her age. But no matter what, you'll be there to offer her advice and help her through it.

5. It's scary to think about what you were like at her age.

She's too young and pure to get into this kind of stuff... even if you got into it at the same age. You're not ready to accept that she's growing up. It's even more difficult when you realize that she's so much cooler than you were!

6. You can't believe some of the trends of her age group.

Why does everyone have a phone? Who let them out of the house dressed like that? What kind of vulgar songs are they listening to? THESE KIDS NEED JESUS!

7. You're jealous of her.

Her grades are better than yours were. You wish you had her body type, or her hair, or her eyes. Why can she do her makeup so well? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE AWKWARD STAGE?! You're jealous, but you'd never tell her that.

8. You can't believe how lenient your parents are with her.

You never would have gotten away with some of the things she's done, and you most certainly never had as much freedom as she has.

9. You can communicate just by looking at each other.

You'll be sitting at the dinner table, when all of the sudden Dad makes a dad joke, or Mom tries to do something "hip." You immediately look at your sister with a face that says, "I can't believe they just did that." And she looks back with, "they're so lame." When you both start laughing, your parents have no idea that a conversation had just taken place.

10. You don't know what you'd do without her.

Despite the ups and downs, you love your little sister. She'll always be there to listen to your stories and laugh at your jokes. You're so proud of the person she's become, and know that she'll do amazing things in life. There's no one else you'd rather have as your sister.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
