10 Signs You're About To Be A Senior In College

I still remember the day I moved all of my things into my dorm freshman year. It feels like yesterday that I was a wide-eyed frosh – wondering around campus, just doing my best to make the most out of my college experience. How did time fly by so fast? How is senior year one week away? Why can’t we all just hit the rewind button and repeat the past three years?

Here are 10 signs you’re about to enter your senior year of college:

1. You are terrified to start the last chapter of your college career.

It’s the beginning of the end. Pretty soon we will all be getting jobs and/or going to grad school. I am not prepared for real life. I still accidentally sleep through my 8:30 a.m. I feel like my future employer would be less than pleased if I showed up to work late because I forgot to set my alarm the night before.

2. But you’re also really excited for senior year parties.

Everyone is officially 21, which means real bars and legal drinking for all. Nothing says senior year like red solo cup dartying on Eaton on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

3. You’ve been scrambling to find and secure an internship for the summer.

How do I write “would do anything for the job” in my cover letter without sounding too desperate?

4. You feel really old.

Just take a moment and go look at a picture of yourself from freshman year. We were all such babies…going to Finnegan’s and crying because Louie’s got shut down forever over winter break. So much has happened since we've come to school, and looking back on this time makes me feel like my grandma recalling her glory days.

5. Everyone keeps asking you what you want to do with your life.

Sometimes I am so indecisive that I change outfits four-times in one day. How can I be expected to make a major life decision when I can’t even figure out what shoes go with my shirt?

6. Half of your friends are about to graduate.

Is it too late for you all to fail your classes and stay at school as super seniors? I honestly cannot imagine what my college experience would be like without you guys.

7. You’ve already caught Senioritis.

I’m not saying that I want to get a zero on my physics final; I’m just saying that I’ve calculated what grade I would receive if I did get a zero on my physics final.

8. You finally feel like you have a solid friend group.

There is nothing worse than first semester freshman year – where everyone is way too desperate to make friends. Thank God that stage in life is over.

9. You’ve accepted the fact that sometimes staying in and drinking a bottle of wine while watching your favorite Disney movie is just as fun as actually going out.

.

Every now and then, I’d rather throw on a pair of sweatpants, scrub my makeup off and drink wine out of a box with my girls. Sometimes I just gotta belt out “Let It Go” as I re-enact the scene in my living room.

10. Regardless of how scary senior year my seem, you know that its going to be the best year of your life.

I hope Providence College is ready, because the class of 2017 is about to take over.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
