Growing up, you go through a lot of changes. With these changes, your personality or interests may differ throughout the years. One of the phases I went through is the "scene phase" or being "emo," some people may call it. Here are 10 signs you went through that phase.
1. Your favorite song's title was six words or more.
"You Be The Anchor That Keeps My Feet On The Ground, I'll Be The Wings That Keep Your Heart In The Clouds" by Mayday Parade was my favorite song. Other songs may be "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More 'Touch Me,'" or "Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off." Most likely, these titles made no sense to the song at all.
2. Poofing up your hair in hopes of looking like one of those Myspace girls.
No explanation needed for this one.
3. Eyeliner, eyeliner, eyeliner.
4. Having a MySpace account to find other kids like you.
5. Your closet had a mixture of bright neon colors and all black.
There were some days where you dreamed of being the neon scene queen, and other days where you wanted to show your sorrow through black clothing.
6. The "grr" face was your favorite pose in pictures.
Smiling was never an option.
7. You said "rawr" to all of your friends.
I mean, rawr means I love you in dinosaur. There was no better way to show your love to your friends.
8. Your arm was a bracelet holder.
I have to admit, those tan lines from the bracelets I wore made me feel very accomplished.
9. Wearing skinny jeans every day, even in the summer.
Your parents were constantly worried you were going to faint from the heat, but they couldn't make you take those bad boys off, even if you were dead. On the bright side, at least you didn't need a belt.
10. Spending all of your money at Hot Topic.
So were you in that scene phase I'm talking about? Did this make you remember or even miss those days? We make a lot of choices in our lives, but why did we ever make this kind of choice? The world will never know.
Scene kids will never die.
