10 Signs You Have Worked At A Coffeehouse
The Huffington Post

Coffee honestly has magical healing powers- everyone loves coffee, but a barista loves it more. After working as a barista since January, there are a few signs i've noticed that make it so obvious you work at a coffeehouse. Here they are:

1. You are a coffee snob.

You know what good coffee tastes like, so you always expect the best. Mediocre coffee just won't do anymore after months or years of high-quality beans.

2. You get really excited if you make a drink that even resembles latte art in the slightest.

Latte art is a hard skill to master. You know you are a barista when you are practicing every chance you get to make a little flower- even though no customer will actually care, they just want their coffee.

3. You get offended when someone says they don't like coffee.

Seriously, who doesn't like coffee? When someone tells you they don't drink coffee, you know right away that they aren't the kind of person you need in your life.

4. You get even more offended when someone comes back complaining about a drink you made.

Your barista skills are your prized possession. When someone complains about them they are basically stabbing you, right in the heart, about 20 times.

5. You no longer function properly until you've had a copious amount of coffee.

You appreciate, and worship, the bean. You've built up a form of resistance to the caffeine so you just have to keep drinking more lattes (or at least that's the excuse you make for going to Starbucks three times in one day) to make it through the day.

6. You feel like you are king/queen of the world.

You are in control of peoples daily caffeine intake. If that's not power than I don't know what is.

7. You have become best buds with the regulars.

You know that they're coming in at 10 a.m. to get an Americano with room and an extra shot with a cheese danish, warmed up. It has gotten to the point where you see people in public and have their orders memorized.

8. Coffee-pouring and syrup-pumping are skills listed on your resume.

They show your ability to concentrate and multi-task, right?

9.Watching someone make a drink incorrectly makes you cringe.

They better pour that latte the right way to really give the drink a better flavor and more foam or you are going to judge them (and be slightly angry that your drink wasn't made with the same integrity that you would make it).

10. You just really love coffee.

There's no ifs, ands or butts about it — you adore coffee. You have a strong respect for the magical liquid, and your fellow baristas, and your days at the coffeehouse will always have a special place in your heart.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
