Rude customers, long shifts, and awful playlist loops are just a few of the struggles of working in retail. This will be my third summer working in the industry. As much as I hate it at times, at least the discounts are rewarding!
1. The words, "Hi, welcome to (store name here). How can I help you?" are forever kicking around in your brain.
2. Your entire wardrobe consists of clothing you bought at work.
3. You are on a first name basis with the mall Starbucks baristas.
4. The words “Black Friday” cause you to scream before curling up in the fetal position in some lonely corner.
5. Your folding skills are practically résumé-worthy.
6. The shoppers who come in to the store three minutes before closing are the bane of your existence.
7. Hearing the same playlist day in and day out makes you question your sanity.
8. When your whole paycheck goes back to the store because you love your employee discount.
9. You’re used to never having a set schedule and rarely being able to make plans in advance.
10. This is your mindset at work 99.9% of the time.
