10 Signs That You're Having Senior Scaries

If senior year is approaching for you, then you might have a strong case of the Senior Scaries...Or maybe it's just me? Here's a few things you might be feeling as this last year of college quickly approaches:

1. You can’t wait for this school year to start, but you also wish time would slow the F down.

2. You calculate down to every dollar exactly how much money you can spend each semester to not be completely broke when graduation comes around.

3. You face the reality that you’ll inevitably be broke by graduation, but at least you had fun while it lasted.

4. You reflect on your full time job or internship from this past summer, and suddenly grad school starts looking pretty damn enticing.

5. You start thinking about ways to earn money post-college without having a real 9-5 job. Then you realize you’re not Mark Zuckerberg.

6. You try to rationalize how going out 6 days a week this semester is normal because it's the last time you can ever live this reckless and lack of responsibility.

7. You envy all the incoming freshman, and live vicariously through them and their trips to Ikea.

8. You have an overwhelming feeling to rebel before becoming a real adult.

9. Every time someone asks you your plans after graduation you make up a solid sounding, but extremely indefinite plan.

10. You start calculating your parent’s income and wonder if you can realistically convince them to let you stay a child for just a few more years.

Don't let the Senior Scaries prevent you from having the time of your life this last year of college, but how about we just never grow up? Deal? Deal.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
