10 Signs Your Sister Is Your Best Friend

If you're fortunate enough to have a sister, then you are also fortunate enough to have a built-in best friend too.

A sister can be a lot of things: your therapist, fashion consultant, a teacher, someone to look up to, but most of all, your best friend. She has been there since the start, and although there may have been a time when you wish she would just leave you alone for one fricken second, where would you be without her? I'm not sure many people with sisters could honestly answer that question.

1. She always has your back.

When it comes to familial debacles, she never fails to be there for you. She'll back your story no matter what, even if she does have to lie to your mom and say she's the one having friends over, when in reality you're hosting a medium-sized banger in the basement.

2. She's brutally honest.

Whether it's about a hideous dress that you thought was a good idea in the store or some backstabbing girl at school who only wants to be your friend to use you, she will always tell you the truth.

3. There is no one who makes you laugh harder.

Who else would be there to crack up with you at dad's jokes or mom's perm back in the '80s?

4. You two equally love taking "sissy selfies."

This could quite possibly be just my sister and me, but we love snapchatting. We take selfies when we are reunited, when we have family parties or even just when we are walking the dog. Selfies are always a must with your sissy.

5. You talk about everything and anything all day long.

There is no one else you'd rather update about the bath towels you bought, so you're pretty lucky that she's always gonna reply to your random texts about things that have minimal meaning.

6. She doesn't annoy you as much anymore.

Your relationship has gone from fighting over the bathroom mirror or who gets the shotgun in the car to doing each other's hair and forcing your mom to sit in the back so you both get the front.

7. Her advice is the best advice.

She always knows what she's talking about, and although you seldom want to admit it, she's always right too.

8. She's your favorite person to reunite with on breaks.

Seeing your hometown friends is always fun and exciting, but your sister is definitely your favorite part about coming home.

9. Everything you do together always ends up being fun.

Your favorite memories together aren't the big parties, but the little things like laying in bed watching "Law and Order: SVU" reruns or getting cheese fries when you are called out of class for dentist appointments.

10. You can't imagine your life without her by your side.

Make sure to thank your parents for creating a permanent partner in crime, because she's the bestest friend you'll ever have.

My sister may have nagged me a bit to write an article about her, but when I decided to finally give in and do it, it was the easiest article to write. I could go on and on about how much I love her and how great of a friend she is to me, but I figured this will do. For everyone reading this with a sister, make sure to tell her how much you appreciate her, because she's not goin' anywhere.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
