My cousins are my best friends. Literally, my best friends. We are crazily and grossily obsessed with each other. A lot of people don't understand why I only talk about my cousins, because who actually enjoys going to family gatherings? We do. We plan trips to visit each other, we have a group chat, and we are way too involved in each other's lives. I am currently visiting my cousin at her school in Florida, and all of her friends were like "I have heard all about you." And they have. We only talk about each other. We understand it's kind of absurd, but I know that there are other people out there that are as obsessed with their family as I am with mine...right?
1. You have all the same mannerisms.
Probably passed down from your mothers.
2. You can actually read each other's minds.
You guys probably spend too much time together, and you know exactly what story, movie, etc. they are referencing. And you definitely know their Chipotle order.
3. No one else can understand you.
There are years upon years upon years of inside jokes that no one else will ever get. Like, ever.
4. You don't have to talk every day to be best friends.
There are months that you are separated, but there is nothing better than being reunited.
5. Restaurants hate you.
You shut down the restaurant, every. Single. Time.
6. Every holiday is like Christmas.
Anytime you are together is better than Christmas.
7. Family drama is the best drama.
We all know. Everything. Always.
8. You are THE squad.
Sorry T-Swift. Our squad will always be the OG.
9. Introducing the S.O. to the fam is...overwhelming.
Sure, you want your friends to like him...but like who's opinion really matters?
10. Blood is thicker than water.
There is nothing that will ever break up your family. You've been through the best and worst of times. You've seen them through the awkward phases and their peaks. You can't get rid of each other now.
