When I was still in high school, I couldn't understand why people watched HGTV for fun. I thought, shows about buying and refurbishing homes? Yawn. Man, I was so wrong. I started watching HGTV once I signed the lease for my first apartment and I've never looked back. I'm now a bona fide HGTV addict. Sometimes I shock myself with just how much I've learned from being an HGTV mega fan. Here are 10 things that all HGTV-lovers can relate to.

1. You know which house a buyer will choose before they do, and it's always the wrong one.

Usually it's the house that doesn't meet their criteria or is way over their budget, but for whatever reason they pick it anyway. It never fails to frustrate me when the buyer makes the wrong choice, even though I've watched it happen hundreds of times.

2. You can tell Jonathan and Drew apart with your eyes closed.

When I first started watching Property Brothers, I could never remember which one was the rugged carpenter and which one was the suave real estate agent. Now I can tell them apart just by listening to their voices. They have such distinct personalities, how did I not see this before????

3. Chip and Joanna are your #relationshipgoals.

Ugh, Chip and Joanna Gaines are the cutest couple to ever walk the Earth. Everyone is obsessed with them and I totally see why. Their love is so genuine, and on top of that they are amazing parents and fantastic people. I hope to find a love like theirs.

4. Your vocabulary contains language that would make an architect proud.

Man, that crown molding looks great with the tray ceiling. And can we talk about the original hardwood floors and how they complement those new quartz countertops? You can't even tell the buyers spent thousands of dollars on a new HVAC.

5. You know how every episode of every show is going to be structured.

First the Property Brothers will show the couple a house way out of their price range to show them that they don't want a move-in-ready home. On Flip or Flop, Tarek and Christina are guaranteed to disagree about one design element in the home, but Christina always wins. The banter between Hilary and David on Love It or List It is almost predictable. Let's not even get into the fact that every renovation ends up going over-budget.

6. You're pretty sure that you're capable of flipping a home.

It doesn't look that hard. You just have to rip the entire house out and start from scratch. I could probably handle it. Flipping a house is definitely on my to-do list.

7. You know every host needs the ying to their yang.

Hilary and David, Jonathan and Drew, Chip and Joanna, Tarek and Christina...name more iconic duos, I'll wait. These guys balance each other out so well. The shows wouldn't be the same without them.

8. You've memorized the best tips and tricks for home decor and decoration.

Once I get a house of my own, I know it's going to look freakin' fantastic thanks to HGTV. I'm not going to be afraid of a big renovation, and when it's time to choose a subway tile backsplash I'm confident that I'll choose the right one.

9. You feel like you're already qualified to be a realtor or interior designer.

I got my start interior designing on The Sims, but HGTV has given me an added edge. With all of the terminology I've picked up, I could easily impress some homeowners.

10. "DIY" is practically your middle name.

I've got about one hundred DIYs pinned on Pinterest. If I can do it myself, I will. HGTV has inspired me to tackle my own projects to create the look that I'm going for. I love HGTV for showing me that I am passionate about home decor and renovation, and that I should never settle for anything less than my dream home. Oh, g2g, House Hunters is on.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
