10 Signs You're More Like Family Than Friends

Have you ever wondered if you and your best friend are actually family? Well, here are a couple of signs:

1. You know each other's garage codes.

You get to your best friend's house and no one is home? No problem -- you can just type in the code and chill until someone gets home.

2. You know where everything is located in the kitchen.

Isn't it awful when you go to someone's house and have to look through all the cabinets just to find a glass for your water? By the time you actually find it, you feel like you wasted half of your life. Well luckily for you, this isn't a problem you have at your best friend's house.

3. You hang out with your friend's parents when your friend is not around.

Your friend isn't home? There's no one to talk to? Nonsense. Their parents are just as good as them... or maybe better.

4. You know how to work their shower.

Is it not the worst when you are ready to get in the shower at a friend's house and then you realize you don't know how to work the dang thing?! Well this isn't your problem anymore. You are so familiar with it that you have started to teach their other guests.

5. You know the extended family.

Family party? You're there. I mean, its not a problem because you already know everyone.

6. You have the inside scoop on all the family drama.

You are around your friends family so much that they feel like you are part of the family, so they always have to catch you up on latest family fiasco.

7. Your Wi-Fi connects automatically.

Nothing better than walking into a house and automatically connecting to the WiFi. Nobody has time for those crazy long passwords anymore.

8. You can get food without asking.

Congrats! You have passed that awkward point of asking if there is any food you could possibly eat. Instead, you go grab your armful from the fridge and plop back down on the couch next to your other family.

9. You have to help clean the house.

There's people coming over? Hope you know where all the cleaning supplies are located!

10. You get in trouble with their parents just as much as yours.

The worst part of being more like family than friends? You get in trouble from your friend's parents like you are one of their children. You consider yourself to be, but you hoped that discipline wasn't included in that.

Having friends that are more like family is awesome, even if it does mean getting yelled at and helping clean a house. At least you're getting some free food out of it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
