10 Signs You're A College Freshman

Welcome to college guys, you're back at the bottom of the barrel; otherwise known as, "freshmen."

Just a few months ago, those that were high school seniors were on top of the world. They were the big fish in their pond. Now, those of them that have made the transition to college are likely experiencing the other end of the specturm.

Here are 10 signs you're a college freshman:

1. You packed your entire house with you.

I don't know about you guys, but this was literally me on move-in day. I had a whole page with a list of things that I just HAD to make sure I packed. My mom and I stuffed our little SUV with boxes of clothes, food, and school supplies. You know... Just packing the essentials...

2. Even then, you probably still forgot something at home.

You ever get that feeling that you forgot something? Yeah, I feel like I forgot my Batman water bottle at home... Oh well, at least I brought an entire pantry's worth of ramen.

3. You're always at least ten minutes early to class.

Are you sitting all by yourself and afraid that you're in the wrong classroom? No, you're in the right place, you're just extremely early to class, you go-getter! Or you're probably in the wrong classroom and now you gotta run halfway across campus before you're late to your Chemistry 101 class, oops!

4. You always bring your backpack full of supplies to class with you.

Even if you don't really need that second Pink Pearl eraser, it's still in there. You know, just in case if your first one happens to run out.

5. You packed enough food and/or ramen to feed an entire army.

Let's face it. You had to come prepared for those long nights staying up finishing homework in your dorm, so you stocked up on the good stuff. I can predict that there are at LEAST two twelve packs of ramen hiding in a storage bin under your bed.

6. You have a mountain of school supplies at your disposal.

One binder and one notebook for each class, at least two packs each of pens and pencils, stacks upon stacks of loose leaf paper, and your backpack to stuff it all in. Yep, you've got it all.

7. You have enough decorations to remodel an entire home.

We all know that your walls are currently filled with old band posters, battery powered lights, and all of your favorite works of art. Just admit it to yourself already. You figured it would jazz the place up.

8. Your closet is bursting with clothes.

Like I said before, you packed your entire house. Your closet is full of all of your favorite t-shirts and sweaters you might never wear. And you still have your luggage under your bed full of more things just in case you run out of something to wear in a few months.

9. You're pretending that you're not really homesick when you secretly are.

When you move away from home for the first time, you feel there's this emptiness inside of you. You're probably homesick. All of us want to act tough and pretend that we're all calm, cool and collected. Let's just face it, we all really miss mommy.

10. All the life skills you learned in high school are thrown out the window.

Momma isn't here anymore to make sure you have your life straight; you're on your own. In your senior year of high school, you finally had time-management and organizational skills down to a T. But now? Trying to manage homework time and time to eat? Forget that. Trying to get used to only having certain classes a day and not a whole day of school? Well, there goes your homework time. Gotta crunch that in right before class starts now.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
