Lets cut to the chase here. The radio is annoying and at times intolerable, but since they're supposed to play us the latest hits and tracks to keep us up to date, we stick around.
But, when the same 20 songs finally start to get old after a month, we spend the following month (or two) wondering why there aren’t any other good songs coming out. Do you seriously think that there aren't more than 20 great songs out at one time? You would have to be kidding yourself if you did. There is plenty more out there! The radio just doesn’t play them (or at least not yet).
So, I took it upon myself to create a list of songs that I wish everyone knew as well as they know Where Are U Now by Justin Bieber and Cool for the Summerby Demi Lovato, because they're just as fun and catchy. And honestly, I desperately want to be able to blast these songs with my friends and not be the only one going hard and rocking out using dramatic hand gestures and unleashing absurd dance moves.
So, are you finally ready for some new tunes that'll make you jam as hard as Tom Cruise in Risky Business? Good, me too.
#1 Dessert by Dawin- Okay, talk about catchy.. you'll have this song on repeat and stuck in your head within the first 30 seconds of hearing it. The lyrics are kept short and simple, and the rhythm is so much fun. Seriously. Soooo. much. fun. You'll be "addicted like it's wrong" to this song.
#2 I Won’t Let You Walk Away by Mako feat. Madison Beer- When you play this one, I recommend you turn the volume up as loud as it goes and take your socks off, because it's about to get real. You'll want to dance like a lunatic.#3 Say My Name (RAC Mix) by ODESZA feat. Zyra- Imagine you just spent a wild night out with your best friends and got the entire thing on video. This is the kind of song you want playing in the background.
#4 Love Myself by Hailee Steinfeld- You may have never heard her name before, but you will soon enough. It's inevitable that this 18 year old's debut single hits the radio (yes, her very first song is a hit), it's too good not to. I mean c'mon, how could you not want to sing along to a song about loving yourself?
#5 We All Want The Same Thing by Rixton- By now, you have probably (hopefully) heard Hotel Ceiling, Me and My Broken Heart, and Wait on Me, all songs off of this British pop band's debut album, Let the Road. This third single picks up the tempo and rhythm, and takes you dancing. All you'll wanna do is get down.
#6 Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself by Jess Glynne- You know her. And you love her. Her voice is the one you can't get out of your head. She's the one that gave you Hold My Hand, Real Love, and contributed to another popular track, Rather Be. And clearly, she's not planning on disappearing anytime soon. She's got more to say in these awesome lyrics!
#7 Strip by Jessie J- Seriously, I have absolutely no idea how this song never took over every single radio station on planet earth. It's a tiny bit older than the other ones I included in this list, but I put it in anyway because I'm holding out hope that it will still blow up. It's upbeat, sassy and demanding, and the hook is unbelievably fun. This song has everything you're looking for when it comes to the perfect dance/party song. And if you like this one, be sure to check out the rest of her latest album, Sweet Talker. The woman does not disappoint.
#8 All I Wanna by Breath Carolina feat. Disco Fries- The electronic rock duo that released the single Blackout in 2011, teamed up with an American production duo, The Disco Fries. I'd say the collaboration turned out pretty well, wouldn't you?
#9 Run Away With Me by Carly Rae Jepsen- We all remember her name from the huge hit song Call Me Maybe, back in 2012. We couldn't forget it if we tried. Ladies and gentlemen, she is back with a new album, called Emotion. After you download this one, it's in your best interest to check out, I Really Like You, and the rest of the other great songs off the album.
#10 Break A Sweat by Becky G- Remember that song that made you shout, "LA DA DEE LA DA DAA LA DA DAAAA" about a year ago? Of course, I'm talking about the song Shower. You may also know her more recent song, Lovin' So Hard, which was released this year. Lucky for us, Becky G decided to drop another one on us. And I have to admit, I sing to this one in the shower too..
Please take these tunes and share them with your friends, and love them so much that the radio can no longer deprive us of such things. It's so not cool to keep this kind of music to yourself.
