Sequels. Always a groan. It's always hard to top an original and most people assume that part two is going to be a big flop. But then just a few sequels come out of the woodwork to remind us to have faith. These are those sequels.

1. "Back to the Future Part II"

Marty and Doc's adventures keep on keepin' on in this sequel. This movie proves that part two is a real to do.

2. "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey"

Excellent! The ending scene to this movie truly makes it one for its time.

3. "Shrek 2"

The soundtrack. THE soundtrack. THE SOUNDTRACK.

4. "Clerks 2"

Absolute comedy gold. Kevin Smith delivers with this sequel.

5. "Lion King 2"

Kovu a.k.a. the love of my life.

6. "The Godfather: Part II"

A true classic. Coppola really upped the ante on this one.

7. "22 Jump Street"

The self-awareness of this film makes it even better than the first.

8. "28 Weeks Later"

Even better than the original. Even scarier than the original.

9. "The Dark Knight"

Heath Ledger giving the performance of a lifetime.

10. "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift"

There are no words.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
