Everyone at least has an idea of what college is going to be like before they get there. No matter how many people complain, or how many stories you hear, or how much you prepare yourself, there are some things you just aren't going to be ready for.

1. You barely having any money. Ever. At all.

Oh, you can save all that you want, but getting necessities for your dorm-food, books, gas, and everything else, having anything in your bank account is nothing short of a blessing.

2. You won't remember everyone's name.

Maybe you knew everyone's name in your graduating class and now you're totally going to make new friends in college. It's inevitable! However, even at smaller schools with only a few thousand students, it's nearly impossible to know everyone's name you've had a class with.

3. It's very easy to fall behind on work.

On more than one occasion you'll find yourself hitting that "submit" button at 11:59 P.M. It stresses you out, but getting it in on time is the important thing. Professors don't always baby you and keep reminding you of assignment due dates. Speaking as a proud procrastinator, unless you become very good about keeping track of them, your workload is going to pile up.

4. Stuff happens, so improvisation is a skill to quickly pick up.

I've kept my car window up with duct tape, made Ramen with a Keurig and forged a speaker out of plastic cups and paper towel rolls. A baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do.

5. Even if you are considered a leader, you'll stop at nothing to fly under the radar.

6. No big goodbyes after finals.

No celebratory throwing papers everywhere, no saying to your teach you'll see them after break. Life just goes on, and that's totally fine because you were "so done" with that semester anyway.

7. People don't dress to impress regularly.

You may look good purposefully your first day back, but then you'll realize people don't pay much attention to what others are wearing. You could wear the same outfit three days in a row and most likely not be the only one doing so.

8. Regular sleep schedules are a thing of the past.

You'll go from pulling one to two all-nighters at a time, to sleeping for 14 hours at a time. Naps are crucial. Set some time aside.

9. Some teachers believe Syllabus Week, even for freshmen, is a good time to start teaching content.

Enough said.

10.You're an adult now.

The real world is knocking at the door. It's a scary time, but you are your own person now! You make the decisions, you call the shots and you can take a day off from classes and lie around in your underwear if you want to as long as you email your professors and get excused absences first. Responsibility first, then leisure.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
