Transferring to Seton Hall University has been hands down the best decision of my life. After this year I gained so many friends, sisters, and career opportunities!
It is funny though because most schools do not have as many rules as we do...so if you're an incoming freshman listen up!
1. Do NOT turn right coming out of campus!

SHU is located in South Orange, we are snug neighbors with Irvington and Newark...Don't turn right:)
2. ALWAYS plan ahead to eat at the cove.

Planning on picking up a quick bite before class? Do NOT even think about going to the cove unless you class is three hours from now or you do not mind being 30 minutes late.
3. Use you pirate bucks/ caf swipes to get chasers
Out of coke or lemonade? Don’t go buy more at Stop and Shop, either fill up a cup in the caf or use your Pirate Bucks- it will save you a ton in the long run!
4. FRESHMAN: Do not breathe swiping into AQ/ Boland after you go to a party

The RAs and security will get you in trouble, get your sh*t together for one second just to swipe in that door.
5. Hide at Dunkin (or anywhere) during the fire alarms
If you are a SHU student you will know exactly what this means. After 38 fire drills in the middle of the winter, it gets old real fast. So avoid them all costs and go get a donut! I even know people who purposely go out in their towels or barefoot to get back in early (so smart).
6. Sitting on the green is a holiday

If it is nice out the “green” on our campus will have 99.9% of our undergrad (the other .1% sucks) sitting out, listening to music, and spiking their on the go water bottles! Always skip class for it.
7. Being late for class to get Dunkin is always worth it.

So worth it.
8. Always wear flip flops or sneakers to frat houses.
Literally people pee in their frat basements, DO NOT wear your super cute shoes!
9. Stoney’s on Wednesdays
You’re welcome. Stoney’s is the best burger place ever, especially when you get a free burger or fries with it!
10. NEVER STEP ON THE SEAL!
Saving the most important for last, do NOT step on the seal or you will not graduate! You think I am kidding about people taking this seriously, but nothing touches the seal like ever.
Follow these rules and you will be ready for this year! Go SHU!
