Nothing feels better than the thrill that you get from riding an amazing roller coaster. While these may not all be the fastest or the tallest, they are some of my personal favorites. This summer, when you're looking for something to do with your friends, load up the car and head towards one of these parks. You won't regret it!
1. Millennium Force at Cedar Point
Sandusky, Ohio
Millennium Force often finds its way onto top roller coaster lists. While it doesn't currently hold any records for roller coaster length, speed, and drops, it broke six records when it was first built. Now, it stands as an all time favorite for many roller coaster fans and a long and thrilling ride for anyone who dares to try it.
2. Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point
Sandusky, Ohio
This is one of the fastest roller coasters in the country. While the ride only lasts a few seconds, it's more exhilarating than almost any of the other rides on the list.
3. Goliath at Six Flags Great America
Gurnee, Illinois
Opening just a few summers ago, this coaster is the fastest wooden roller coaster in the world. If you like the feel of a wooden roller coaster, but are looking for a thrill, you have to check this out.
4. Raging Bull at Six Flags Great America
Gurnee, Illinois
This ride is worth the wait for the front seat. With steep drops and high speeds, this coaster is unforgettable. With one of the longest tracks on the list, this ride should be on everyone's lists.
5. Superman Ride of Steel at Six Flags Great America
Gurnee, Illinois
This ride flips you onto your stomach before flying around the length of the track. With large hills and quick speeds, this ride makes you feel like you really are Superman.
6. X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain
Valencia, California
This ride is my personal favorite on the list. The seat is designed to move separately from the rest of the cart, so you spin around as you fly over hills and turns. That's not to mention the sound effects on the climb up or the flame thrower as you exit one of the tunnels. This is a must see for anyone who enjoys a thrilling ride.
7. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios
Universal City, California
This ride is great enough with it's fast speeds and steep drops, but the music makes it all the better. Each rider gets to pick their own song to listen to as they soar down the tracks. No matter what kind of music you pick, this ride is sure to please any thrill seeker.
8. Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey at Islands of Adventure
Orlando, Florida
This is not one of the more thrilling rides on the list. While it may not make your heart race from the steep drops and top speeds, the special effects of this ride are nothing short of amazing. Whether you are a fan of Harry Potter or not, this ride is unlike any other.
9. Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Disney's Magic Kingdom
Orlando, Florida
This coaster is built like a giant elevator that's free falling over Hollywood Studios. The view when the doors open over the park is terrifying and exhilarating. Just make sure that you're strapped into your seat.
10. Kraken at Sea World
Orlando, Florida
This one is not as thrilling as some of the other coasters, but it is still worth the ride. As the world's second longest floorless roller coaster, it is an enjoyable coaster for anyone who's not afraid of heights.
