It's true what they say, best friends come in to your life when you're least expecting it. When I first met you, I didn't know you'd be my best friend. I didn't know I would want you in my wedding one day or that my fear of not being your friend would haunt me more than my fear of bugs. I didn't expect you and I to hit it off as well as we did. I didn't expect your calm and collected personality to blend well with my stubborn and persistent personality. And I sure didn't expect for you to become my new "home." Moving to college was at the least a transition. But you've helped me learn and grow more in these past couple of months than I could've ever imagined. Here's 10 reasons why you're my best friend...

1. You accept that my 15 minute naps actually mean that I'm out for the night.

Thank you for playing along with me whenever I say "I promise I'll wake up this time, I just need a power nap."

2. You plan spontaneous trips to New York City with me.

When I told you I wanted to go to New York City over Christmas break, you didn't laugh in my face, instead, you said, "let's go."

3. Your laugh is contagious. Literally.

You're always telling me "funny" stories and laughing at absolutely everything. To tell the truth most of the time I'm laughing is pure because your laugh cracks me up. I can't help but to laugh every time you laugh.

4. You got my back when I can't reach it.

I think this may be the most important reason you're my best friend. Thank you for always fake tanning my back for me, even if you're still half asleep.

5. You make everything fun.

Whether we're driving back to College Station early in the morning or our hair is frizzing up because it's raining at Wurstfest, I am always having fun when we're together.

6. My happiness is your happiness.

You are so supportive and so happy with everything that I do. Anytime something exciting happens for me, you're the first person I tell because I know we will celebrate together.

7. Nothing we say to each other is awkward.

Let's admit it, we say some pretty weird things to each other that would probably be best left in our heads... but we don't even hesitate to say it out loud.

8. We share our faith.

We openly talk about God, our beliefs, and our spiritual aspirations. We go to Breakaway together and constantly push each other to grow our relationships with God.

9. You understand me.

Literally. I don't even understand what I'm saying half the time. I often talk way too fast and all of my words jumble together and you still understand what I am saying and vise versa.

10. We share dreams.

Although our future ambitions and dreams may seem out of reach. We push each other. You don't just support me, you say you'll be there for it all. We have dreams of moving to New York together and doing really amazing things in our lives and never once have you doubted or shot down what I've had to say or believe.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
