Camp counselors are the hidden gems in life that are underappreciated (and underpaid). I mean, come on, we take care of children for a living...we're like part-time teachers, parents and older siblings all at the same time. Here are a few things all camp counselors know:
1. You can tie shoelaces with your eyes closed

If anyone knows the pain of *poke poke* "Excuse me, can you tie my shoes??", it's camp counselors. And if you weren't an expert at tying shoes before, you most definitely are now.
2. You've eaten 30,000 sun butter and jelly sandwiches

3. It's literally the end of the world when your favorite camper doesn't show up

4. You've wondered what would happen if you tripped a kid...or worse
"I mean, he just fell, I don't know what happened!"
We're all human, and of course we have our favorites. But we also have our least favorites, and if they scrape their knees, you give them NO sympathy (and maybe even laugh a little).
5. You learned how to make gimp bracelets all over again

6. You come home singing songs like "Down By The River"

7. Your kids know more about technology than you do

8. Coming home and contemplating the amputation of your feet

9. Becoming attached to another person's child

10. You LOVE your job
Even though sometimes they drive you crazy, you love your kids and you love your job. Otherwise, you wouldn't keep coming back for more! My camp are the reason I wake up in the summer and love what I do, and I know you do too!
