Finnick Odair is probably the dreamiest victor in all of Panem. In case you don't know who he is (I'd be shocked if you didn't), Finnick was a career tribute from District 4 who won the 65th Hunger Games at the age of 14. Finnick spends a lot of his time saving others and overall proves to be a really great victor. I know we all have our favorite "Hunger Games" guy, but here's just a few reasons I think Finnick should be your favorite, too.
1. His smile.
Seriously, need I say more? Look at him.
2. His love for Annie.
After Annie's traumatic experience in the games, she was seen as mentally unstable. Finnick seemed to be the only one that could calm her. No matter the situation, Finnick was always caring about Annie was doing and how things would affect her. He wanted to keep her safe. Even though there was an entire war going on around him, he still married her.
3. He's athletic.
Have you seen him with that trident?! This guy has some serious skills.
4. He's caring!
He did everything he could to protect his former mentor, Mags, in the Quarter Quell.
He gave Peeta mouth-to-mouth when he stopped breathing.
He is always looking out for Katniss' best interest; not only as her ally, but as her friend.
All around, Finnick is the kinda guy you should keep around.
5. He brings snacks.
OK, so maybe sugar cubes aren't considered a snack, but it's the thought that counts, right?
6. He's loyal.
While he can seem cocky at times, Finnick is completely loyal to the ones he loves. Whether it's to his own district or to Katniss and Peeta (as an ally), he never gives up. Even if it means dying to save them, he's willing to do whatever it takes. Finnick is willing to fight for what he believes in, no matter the cost.
7. He's handsome.
As Katniss describes him, FInnick is extremely handsome. Between his sea green eyes, golden hair, tall muscular stature, tan skin... Well, what else could you want in a guy? And really, who else could get away with walking around in only fishing net?
8. He's strong.
And no, I don't just mean muscles. Finnick was used by the Capitol at one point in time. In turn, Finnick fought through PTSD on a daily basis while handling the rest of things life threw at him as well. He didn't let his mental illness take over his life. (Not to mention, he cared for Annie though all of this, too.)
9. His sense of humor.
When walking through the Capitol, Finnick saw his own wanted poster flashing on the screens and all he could do was laugh. Finnick saw the Capitol to be a joke just as the rest of the victors did. Overall, Finnick found a way to make a joke about the little things just to make life a little easier.
10. He's perfect.
I mean really, do you need any other reason to love him?
“It takes 10 times longer to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart.”
