10 Reasons You Should Be Excited The Royals Are Back
Royals

It's the best time of the year again, folks! That's right, baseball season is back. That means there are 162 games to be watched, and hopefully more when October rolls around. I know I am looking forward to watching my favorite team, the Kansas City Royals. If you aren't quite sure if you should jump on this bandwagon like so many others at the end of last season, here are some reasons other than statistics that you should be excited that the Royals are back:

1. More Defensive Plays

Chances are if you watch ESPN, you have seen at least one of the amazing defensive plays the Royals make. I can't wait to see more of them this year.

2. Alex Gordon

We thought we were going to lose him there for awhile, but after some negotiations, we got our man back. I don't think any of us were going to be prepared to watch left field without him. It just wouldn't have been the same.

3. The Dugout Interactions

While I would much rather be at the games in person, that's not always possible. So what makes watching the games on TV fun is being able to see the players in the dugout. Just like the actual game, this can be quite entertaining.

4. Salvy During Interviews

Salvador Perez has a habit of interrupting sports broadcasts or interviews, and it usually is hilarious.

5. Ice Baths

A tradition, whenever the Royals win is to dump ice water, or gatorade, on whoever is being interviewed. Joel Goldberg is usually included in this as well and has grown accustomed to it.

6. The Fans

Being a Royals fan wouldn't be nearly as fun if you didn't have other awesome people to share it with. Seriously, Royals fans are not only loyal and usually polite, but they are a lot of fun to be around.

7. Paul Rudd

Speaking of fans, actor Paul Rudd is a huge Royals fans, and he is known to be randomly at games, and will usually do an interview afterwards where he invites everyone over to his mom's house.

8. More Amazing Comebacks

If anything, the Royals really know how to make a comeback. They have a habit of winning games solely in the later innings. If you need proof of this, watch the majority of our playoff games from 2014 and 2015. While it can be nervous sometimes, it sure makes it fun.

9. It's A Team Of Goofballs

Did I mention that they're fun to watch?

10. Defending World Series Champions

No one thought they could do it, but they did. Need I say more?

I could probably list at least 20 more reasons as to why it's exciting, but I'll spare you the time.

Go Royals!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
