For those who have never had a dog or have a dog but it is not a pug, I am here to tell say, you are missing out. Pugs have such a unique character that is not like any other dog. I have 10 solid reasons why everyone should own a pug.

1. They do not take up much space.

Pugs are so small that everything is big to them! People who have an apartment might like a pug because they do not require big living quarters to be happy.

2. They are lap dogs.

Who doesn't love a lap dog? During the B.C period pugs were bred to be lap dogs for royal families.

3. Everyone is their friend.

Pugs are door greeters. They will greet any guest at the door. My pug believes anyone who walks in the door is there to visit him. He will actually ditch me for the guest.

4. They are good with other pets.

Pugs are wonderful with other pets. They may be curious about the other dog or cat but will accept them as a their best buddy in no time.

5. They are not mischievous.

Pugs generally sleep 12 hours or more a day. While you are away, you will not have to worry about them destroying the brand new couch or confusing the new rug as grass.

6. They like to cuddle.

Not every breed is affectionate and enjoys cuddling. Pugs will be your cuddle buddy! They want to be as close as possible to someone especially their owner.

7. They do not require much exercise.

Pugs can overheat in the high temperature weather so a daily walk around the neighborhood would be all the exercise they would require.

8. Pugs have a great personality.

Pugs are always a joy to be around. They are playful and energetic.

9. Great with children.

Pugs are a perfect dog to have if you little ones running around. They are gentle and patient. They are not aggressive and love large amounts of attention.

10. They are not violent or aggressive.

Pugs are the biggest teddy bears and would never nip at anyone. Pugs are the definition of "all bark and no bite".

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
