10 Reasons Why You Should Go on Spring Break
Student City

My freshmen year of college; I had two jobs. I decided that working was more important than doing what most of the other students were doing, which was socializing and hanging out with friends. I stayed at home and was so content with working all 7 of those days that I had off that I didn't even think about what I was missing out on. When it was February I heard a bunch of people talking about spring break. I had heard about it before and had seen it in movies, but had never actually experienced it. Not going on spring break was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Here are 10 reasons why you should go on spring break!

1. You're young, so please don't work your life away.

2. Regardless of where you go on spring break, you will make memories that will stick with you forever.

3. After being in school for 2 months, it's nice to take a break. Whether you're laying on the beach or doing something else, not thinking about work or the next assignment that is due is a break in itself.

4. Quality time with some awesome people is never unwelcome!

5. Wherever you go, you can meet some really awesome people that you might connect with!

6. Exploring somewhere other than where you live is a really great life experience.

7. Get out of your comfort zone! If you're anything like me, you like the normal routine of your day, but broadening your horizon never hurts.

8. If you don't go you may regret it. Once a moment passes, you can't get it back. Take full advantage of the opportunities that are put in front of you!

9. Escape your responsibilities! You are young and deserve to test yourself every once in a while. You deserve to figure out your limitations.

10. Let go! Let go of the guy that you may or may not hang out with back at home. Let go of the pressure your boss is putting on you to stay and work. Especially let go of your personal barriers that are telling you not to go out and live your life!

Spring break isn't for everyone, but I suggest that you give it a chance! I'm going on spring break this year, and I can't wait. Spending some quality time on the beach with some amazing people is exactly what anyone needs. Regardless of what you end up doing, make the most of it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
