Winter is my favorite season. It's something I spend the whole year waiting for. It's a time of year for reflection, family, thankfulness, and joy. The season of winter brings renewed happiness and a new outlook on life. Here's a list of 10 reasons why winter is my favorite season, and should be yours, too!
1. SNOW!
Snow is literally the best. You wake up in the morning and the world is a quiet winter wonderland. And on top of that, you have an excuse to sit inside, drink hot chocolate, and binge watch Gilmore Girls all day long. And no one can make you go outside, because you can't even get outside without a shovel! Speaking of...
2. Holiday Episodes
Holiday episodes of your favorite TV shows are filled with laughter, twinkle lights, snow, and love. There is nothing better than watching snow fall on Lorelai and Rory Gilmore in Stars Hollow while forgetting about the finals you have in the next two weeks.
3. Decorations
No matter what holiday(s) you celebrate, I know I am always excited when I see the twinkle lights and snowflakes start to appear around town. I love driving around and seeing what decorations my neighbors have set up for the year. My family doesn't usually take our decorations down until it's almost February, and I have no shame.
4. School Break!
5. Holiday Parties
Who doesn't love free food, friends, and jammin' holiday music all in one place? Eat and be merry, my friends!
6. Ugly Christmas Sweaters
Ugly Christmas sweaters have quickly become a holiday staple, and I am HERE. FOR. IT. Yes, man, you rock that ugly Christmas sweater with pride!
7. ABC Family's (Freeform) 25 Days of Christmas
Ah, yes. It's that time of year where ABC Family plays nothing but happy, jolly holiday movies and my family keeps all of them on our DVR for way too long, unapologetically.
8. Giving gifts!
One of the greatest feelings in the world is finding a gift you know a loved one will enjoy, and then seeing their faces light up when they open it! It makes you all smiley and warm.
9. Getting gifts!
Words to make you smile this holiday season: "I saw this and thought of you."
10. Spending time with those you love.
They may drive you crazy, but at the end of the day, they're family and you love them. Happy Holidays, you weirdos!
