10 Things You Know If Pacey Witter Was One Of Your First TV Crushes

"Dawson's Creek," one of the most popular teen drama television series to come out of the late '90s, focuses on the lives of a close-knit group of young friends in high school and as they go off to college and develop into young adults.

The show follows Dawson Leery (James Van Der Beek), Joey Potter (Katie Holmes), Pacey Witter (Joshua Jackson) and Jen Lindley (Michelle Williams) as they try to come of age in a small coastal town in Massachusetts called Capeside.

Joshua Jackson as Pacey Witter, stole the hearts of teen girls across the country with his charm, witty humour and his overall self-confidence. While he had these qualities front and center, underneath it all it was revealed that he suffered from emotional anxiety due to his parents' neglect. His way of making up for this was by connecting with people through his ability to make them laugh on a whim. As the series progressed, he would mature and come into his own, to be his best self.

Here we list ten reasons why we will never forget Pacey. Ever. Period.

1. He marched to the beat of his own drums, not caring what anybody else would think.

In one episode, which this GIF is taken from, Pacey would participate in a local beauty pageant in the hopes of stirring things up a bit. Please tell me, what other guy would do something like this in real life?

2. He was a natural jokester, but could also be serious, all depending on the situation.

3. He understood his faults, but didn't feel the need to change his ways in order to accommodate anybody.

4. He could make anybody laugh with his witty and sarcastic sense of humor.

And we mean literally anyone, that takes some serious talent.

5. He was a kid at heart.

6. He deeply cared for those close to him, even if they didn't return his feelings.

Deemed as the black sheep of his family, he always tried to exceed his parents' expectations of what he was capable of doing.

7. By his nature, he was capable of giving and returning love.

Beneath all of his layers and the walls he built up in order to protect himself, he was actually quite the romantic.

8. He was a world-class charmer.

And if we're being honest, he knew it too!

9. He believed in making every day count as though it were his last.

10. He wanted to be his own person.

We have Kevin Williamson, most well-known for creating "Dawson's Creek" and also the "Scream" thriller franchise, to thank for developing this great character, who is relatable and perfectly portrayed by actor Joshua Jackson.

It looks like even Jackson himself holds the same sentiments as we do for his character:

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
