10 Reasons Why My Gay Best Friend Is Just My Best Friend

1. You know who sings what part in duets.

You're Glinda, I'm Elphaba, duh.

2. You won't lie to me if I look ugly.

Whenever I'm getting ready, there is a good chance you're in my room (unless you know I'm going to take forever) and you tell me if my winged eyeliner is not suitable for the public and if my outfit is not on fleek.

3. You will order Fatty's with me at any hour of the day.

..and cry with me when it is taking too long to come or Fatty's is closed. We eat too much.

4. You will pretend to be my boyfriend at any point.

I don't need to explain.

5. I can call you at 3 a.m. crying hysterically.

Whether it be because I failed a test, I'm emotional or a boy broke up with me, I know I can call you at any time and you will come to me and hold me until I stop.

6. You can always put me back in check when I'm freaking out about everything.

You always know exactly what to say to me when I think the world is falling apart around me and I have nothing to live for, you are my saving grace.

7. We plan our future weddings together while stuck in traffic.

We're both getting married on the beach. You're in the morning because I won't get up early enough to "become a bride." I'm at mid-day because by the time your wedding is over I'll be wide awake and ready to go. Then we'll have an amazing duo reception afterwards and live happily ever after.

8. He tells me if my selfies are, or aren't, Instagram-worthy.

Pick one (sends 5 selfies). Number three, you look like a troll in the other ones. Okay, perf. Thanks.

9. You let me vent, but you tell me when I'm being crazy.

You're never afraid to tell me when I'm close to admitting myself into an institution. Thanks for never screenshotting my texts and blackmailing me. Love you.

10. I can tell you all my secrets and trust that you won't tell anyone. Ever.

You know everything about me and are still my best friend, so that's a good sign.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that everyone doesn't need a gay best friend. My best friend is a gay man and I love him more than I love myself. He is a gift from heaven, and I'm glad I met him when I did. He is my best friend.

Coleman, I love you. You're amazing.

P.S. Don't ever leak any of my Snapchats you screenshot. Thanks. XOX.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
