10 Reasons Why I Love My Dog
Jackie Arnott

My dog, Prince, is the best cocker spaniel in the world. No, I will not be humble. My dog is my favorite. He's a good boy, he gives the best cuddles and kissies, he loves head pats and ear scratches, and he's so sweet. He loves bones and treats, and barking at trains. He also loves playing in dirt and bringing it inside the house. He likes to sleep in my bed with me and my mom's bed with her. He doesn't bother our cats (who, in return, don't bother him either), and he is always so excited when my mom or I come home. Here are other reasons why I love him:

1.) He's the best boy

He's just So Goodâ„¢. He is so loving and wants to be everyone's friend. Dogs like my dog are just the best.

2.) He's very photogenic

LOOK AT HIM. LOOK AT MY SON.

3.) HE SLEEPS IN A CAT BED

DON'T BELIEVE ME?

4.) He literally gets so excited when I come home from school

He barks when my car pulls up, and scratches at the door before I'm even inside. Once I am inside, he's so sweet and loving. He rubs his head against my calf and wags his tail until you can't see it anymore and he whines until I pet him. He's so excited to see me and it makes my heart explode with happiness.

5.) He Is My Sonâ„¢

He is, for all intents and purposes, my son. I love him more than I could love anything. He is my best friend and the most important thing to me. If I were to loose him, I'd die. I wouldn't be able to handle it. He is my sweet son and I love him very much.

6.) He, like most other cocker spaniels, gets so excited, that he piddles.

Okay, this one is gross, but it's also kind of endearing. HEAR ME OUT, OKAY? He's just so happy and excited. I can't bring myself to be mad at him because he's just so excited, he couldn't help it. He's a good boy, okay?

7.) When you take him on car rides, he likes to move around.

He just likes to move and be a puppy. He's very wiggly and enjoys being himself.

8.) He's 12 years old, but acts like a puppy.

He's so old, but so young at heart. The veterinarian once tried to guess his age based on his teeth, and said he was four years old. My dog is, indeed, 12 years old, but he gets into the trash like he's 12 months old. He's a good boy, but also, he can do bad things. But it's okay, because he's good.

9.) If he could talk, I would never try to make a human friend again.

If he could speak to me, I would stop interacting with humans I didn't already know. He would take 100% of my attention and we would have important conversations about who the good boy really is, and why I love him so much, but won't let him have any cheese.

10.) Look at him again and tell me you honestly don't think he's a 10/10 canine

In conclusion, he's such a good boy and everyone should love him as much as I do. Thank you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
