Although I've been here for a short period of time, I have many reasons to love BGSU already. Of course, if you're reading this, you love BGSU too. Here are just 10 of the infinite reasons why Bowling Green State University is the best.
1. It's already sweater weather
When I left home to come to Bowling Green, I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt. Now that I'm here, I've been able to wear sweaters and jeans, and leggings and sweatshirts because even though it's still summer, the weather here is fall.
2. Cookie delivery
Yes, we have two different cookie delivery services. I am not going to admit how many times my roommates and I have already used them.
3. Taking classes I want
This has to be one of the best parts of college. I am so happy to finally be able to get away from useless study halls and classes that will never benefit me. Now I can pick the classes I want to be able to learn what I want.
4. The people
Everyone here has been so friendly and welcoming so far. I'm not sure if it's because all of us freshmen are in the same boat with trying to meet new people or if the high school pettiness has worn off, but there is a difference and it is appreciated.
5. Free food
I can't stress enough how much free food there is. You really can't escape it, and if you plan it out right, you shouldn't have to pay fro your own food for the first few weeks with all of the handouts happening.
6. Single room dorms
My roommates and I each have our own separate dorms with a shared bathroom and common area. This is everything I could have asked for and more. I get to see them all the time, but we also are able to shut our doors when we need to study or sleep. Its amazing.
7. Organizations
We haven't even had the campus activities festival yet and I already feel like I'm getting involved. There are so many things to choose from and I'm already obsessed with some to the organizations we have here.
8. Cutest college apparel
It's the best. Get on our level.
9. Downtown
Downtown Bowling Green is kind of adorable. There are coffee shops, restaurants, and stores of all kinds everywhere. There's always somewhere to go or something to do. I even got to pet a goat.
10. Distance
While I do love BGSU, I love home too. The three-hour drive is just right for me to get away from home, but also come back whenever I need a dose of my hectic family.
