We all know leaving for college is difficult, but leaving your animals is the worst. Just this past semester I've been having serious dog withdrawals, and let me tell you, it isn't fun at all. Leaving your dog is even worse to some than leaving your whole family.
So, because I'm missing my dog a little extra tonight, here are 10 reasons why leaving your dog is the worst.
1. They don't know you'll be back!
Unlike most of your family, your animals don't know that you'll be coming back in two or three weeks. They just think you left them.
2. You lose a cuddle buddy.
At college, not even your softest blanket can compare to a fluffy puppy sitting on your lap.
3. No one gets as excited to see you.
Your roommates don't jump up and down and cry because you're home.
4. No one listens to you.
Dogs are literally the best listeners in the world. They're attentive, or at least pretend to be.
5. Sleeping is lonely.
No one is there to cuddle up to you and steal half the bed.
6. You can't pet your dog through a phone.
Facetiming your dog just doesn't do it enough.
7. Who's going to feed them under the table?
Because let's be honest, mom and dad won't sneak them pieces of last night's steak.
8. Thinking about it's sad face while you're gone is depressing.
Because who can't resist a cute dog face.
9. Seeing dogs on campus make you miss them more.
Even when they bring in the therapy dogs, you can't help but miss your best friend even more.
