1. They literally scare all the assholes away.
I grew up with overprotective brothers when I started dating the first thing I told guys was that I had two older brothers (yes, I said two). It usually ended from there which is okay because they probably weren't worth my time.
2. They teach you everything you need to know about guys.
Believe me, the most important thing about having brothers is that they teach you all the red flags that mean they're "just not into you". They teach me what goes on in guys heads, they tell me what a text from them actually means.
3. They toughen you up!
My brothers were always beating me up, which made me stronger when I played lacrosse. Bumps and bruises literally meant nothing to me. But, they didn't just toughen me up in that way. They made me use my mind over my heart when it was necessary, like break ups for example. (It was ok, they were probably going to get beat up anyway)
4. Make sure your outfits are more modest then slutty.
I never really liked low cut tops or tight pants, but they let me know when I was dressing too slutty for my own good. Sometimes they didn't even have to say anything, they just gave me that look. I marched my butt straight up to my room for a wardrobe change..
5. They introduced me to sports.
My brother literally made me stand in front of the fence with his lacrosse helmet and pads on and shot lacrosse balls everywhere. I had to catch them or else he would sling one straight at my face. That made me both scared but motivate to become good enough to have a catch with him (without the helmet and pads). FYI, I did.
6. You get to play stylist every time they go out.
My other brother is focused on the way he looks more than my other one. Which is super fun because you get to pick out his wardrobe and the way he wears his hair. Most of the time, he came back with a smile on his face and already a date for his next night out.
7. Always there to slip you a few extra bucks.
Whenever I'm hungry and running low on cash or need a few extra bucks to get your new pair of shoes, he's there to slip me a twenty when my Daddy isn't around.
8. They give you an amazing sense of humor.
Brothers are always cracking jokes (usually dad jokes). They taught me their witty ways and jokes to tell my friends. They gave me the "guy" sense of humor so I never took things TOO TOO seriously when I was around the guys at school.
9. Always there to pick you up, even when you are at your absolute worst.
They are literally always there to give you a ride somewhere, or pick you up when you've been drinking a little too much. But not even just that, when your crying or upset, they're there to help you out and listen. (Maybe not about the girl drama but you get the jist)
10. Help you survive big events of your life.
Whether it's middle school, high school or even college- they've been through it already. They tell you what to expect and what to do to achieve success. If you're lucky they already know all your teachers or professors and know what already on their tests (like I said, if you're lucky).
I've never been so blessed to have two big brothers in my life, they literally made me who I am today and without them, I'd be too emotional, too clueless about guys and not strong enough to get through this crazy girl drama. They tease me and drive me CRAZY, but I wouldn't want to have it any other way.
