10 Reasons Why Golden Retrievers Are The Best
Catcombe Golden Retriever

Golden retrievers are one of my favorite animals ever. I love all dogs, but there's something about these majestic fluffy beasts that tugs on my heart strings. I could give you a million reasons why I love them so much, but this is a list of 10 reasons why they're my favorite.

1. They're super playful!

Golden retrievers love playing with other dogs and with little kids, even into their old age. Who doesn't want a cute dog doing magic tricks like this one their whole lives?

2. They're always confused.

I don't know about you, but confused dogs, particularly puppies, are just about the cutest thing in the world. Seeing them so happy and perplexed makes me hope that they never figure life out.

3. They're very intelligent animals!

Based on a dog trainer's survey, they are the fourth smartest dog in the world! They're often seen as service dogs or doing agility courses. Sure, lots of dog breeds can do those things, but do any of them look so cute in a tie and glasses?

4. They're also a little... dumb.

Goldens are like people; some are street smart, some are book smart, and some aren't really smart at all. This golden pictured above isn't really... ball smart. Seeing them do dumb things sometimes is hilarious, and makes them even more endearing.

5. They appear in many of our childhood movies.

"Air Bud," "Air Buddies," "Homeward Bound;" what do these childhood movies all have in common? Golden retrievers. I guess this isn't a reason to love them, but it means that they're easy enough to train, and we all can associate happy childhood memories with them. (Except the end of "Homeward Bound." Spare yourself the pain!!)

6. They tolerate cats.

I love cats just as much as the next girl, but they are EVIL (in the most endearing way), especially toward dogs. As this gif portrays, Goldens tolerate their evil behavior, and sometimes pat them on the head for their good work.

7. THEY'RE

8. SO

9. CUTE!!

10. They love you unconditionally.

Goldens will love their owners unconditionally, and will always be happy to see them come home. Having someone love you like this can only benefit your life.

If you disagree with Goldens being the best breed, comment below with some reasons and/or pictures so we can enjoy all breeds of cute dogs together!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
