10 Reasons Why I Am Excited To Go Back To School

Since I am going back to the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire in about three weeks, I thought I would share some things that I am getting excited to see/do!

1. To see my friends

It has been a long summer, and I have seen some of my college friends, but I haven't seen them all. I made so many new friends and great relationships last year that I can't wait to see what this coming year brings. I am so excited to see everyone and catch up with them and do the things we used to do! I miss them all so much!

2. Late nights at The Cabin

There's nothing better than going to The Cabin late at night, with a few friends, drinking a mocha, and listening to live music. I had some great nights at The Cabin and I can't wait to go there so more this year!

3. My roommate

I got really lucky with my roommate my first year and I'm excited to go back to school because we are living with each other again this year! We had some pretty great late night conversations and I can't wait to make more memories with my roommate this coming year!

4. A Capella

There are some pretty amazing A Capella groups on campus and I cannot wait to go to all of their concerts!

5. French toast sticks at 9pm in the caf

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love breakfast so this is definitely something that I get excited about. At UWEC every Tuesday and Thursday night the caf serves french toast sticks, amazing, I know. The last few months of school my friends and I would go every single Thursday.

6. Seeing people sleep on campus

Walking around campus on a warm day you will see many people sleeping on the grass. It always makes me happy when I see people sleeping because at least you know that somebody is getting sleep!

7. Blugold Marching Band

Going to the football games and seeing the BMB preform is one of my most favorite things about fall! I'm excited to see what they have been working on this year!

8. Classes

Yes, I do enjoy going to class...well I enjoy going to some classes. I love that I get to choose all of the different classes that I want to take and I get to learn about different subjects that I am interested in. Knowledge is power, people.

9. Meeting new people

I love meeting new people so I am so excited to meet more amazing people this coming year!

10. Campus

The University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire is called the most beautiful campus for a reason. I can't wait to see the changes of the seasons on campus, because they are SO beautiful!

I'm still happy that there is a little bit of summer left, but I really am looking forward to being back on campus!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
