1. He is probably my first kiss. I just don't remember it.
2. Daddy will always be there to dry your tears.
He is probably one of the only men that you never have to worry about being “too emotional" in front of.
3. He showed me that life is best lived when we are selfless.
Dads teach us how to stay grounded and how to always put others first while never expecting anything in return.
4. My dad makes the most inappropriate-lamest jokes, but I know our conversations would not be complete without them.
I don't know about everyone else's dad, but my dad thinks he is the funniest man alive. Even though I roll my eyes whenever he cracks a “joke", I know that I have gotten my sense of humor from him and I love him for that.
5. He may never understand the fuss about makeup and other girly habits but he supports me all the same.
Do you remember all the times our dads sat down and played tea party with us or let us paint their nails? Why do you think they did all these horribly embarrassing things? For the simple fact that they love us more than anything and would do anything to see us smile.
6. He carries pictures of you where money is supposed to be.
Nothing in the world makes him more proud than showing off his little girl. As much as he may embarrass you when he announces to his entire office or, in my case, the entire grocery store that you got straight A's this year, he can't help it. You are the light of his life and he wants everyone to know it.
7. The man he is has helped make me into the woman I am today.
I know for a fact that I would not be the woman I am today if I did not have a strong male role model like him in my life. He always pushed me to be the best me I could be, even when sometimes that would end in screaming matches.
8. Daddy was the first man to call me beautiful and nothing I do will ever change how much he loves me.
Most things in my life have at least a 20 day return policy. But not between me and my dad. From the second he laid eyes on me, he knew I was his angel. We may fight but at the end of the day, I am happy he is my dad.
9. You will never outgrow each other.
Even when you outgrow his lap you will never outgrow his heart.
10. When you find your Prince Charming, you will still have your King looking out for you.
Most dads hate the idea of their little girl dating, let alone getting married, but that's only because they fear that no man will ever be good enough for their little girl. Daddy is your protector and keeper of your heart until he feels like you have found a man deserving to take over. Although it is hard to always live by his teachings, I have his love and support to help me through the troubling times.
I will never forget my first love, because my first love is my dad.
Although I realize some are not blessed with a father figure, or may not have the closest relationship with their dad, some of these reasons could relate to your mothers, or other family members. This is how my father has helped me.
