For many sorority girls, the best part of their experience in their sorority is their Big. The Big/Little relationship is so much different from anything else and it's something that nobody outside of Greek Life can understand. She's like a best friend, a mentor, and a mom all rolled into one. She's a bad influence and a good influence all at the same time. Everyone's relationship with their big is different, but there are some things that are the same no matter what.
1. She always has great advice
You may not like her advice, but it seems like she's always right. She will always be able to calm you down when you're freaking out about an exam and she's can make even the worst situation seem better. Her advice might even rival your actual parents advice, especially when it's about situations where you definitely do not want to tell your parents what happened.
2. She gives the most thoughtful gifts
Some Bigs give frequent, over the top gifts to their Littles. Others give small tokens of how much they love their Little. No matter what, it's always absolutely perfect because they're from her. And if she's artistic, it is guaranteed that all your friends will be completely jealous of everything she gives you because it's so personalized and amazing.
3. She will always come save you no matter what
Way too stressed out? Disaster date? Creepy guy hitting on you? She will always come to save you. Sometimes you don't even have to call her because you swear she can sense you're in trouble and shows up just when you need her. And you're always willing to do the same for her.
4. She never judges you
No matter what you do or get into, she will never judge you for any of it. Whether it's a bad choice you made some night or just something dumb that you do, she's always going to be there for you. She's probably the best person and you can tell her everything.
5. She always tells you how much she loves you
Whether it's through text, Snapchat, or in person your Big always reminds you just how much she loves you. She may be very affectionate or someone who doesn't love hugs (probably not because being in a sorority pretty much forces you to tolerate hugs), but she will always find a way to show you just how much she loves you. After all, you're her Little.

6. Two words: group. costumes.
Group costumes are obviously the most fun types of costumes. They have all kinds of inside jokes and allow you to spend some quality time with your friends. Your Big is always down to be the second part of your group costume. Heck, you could probably talk her into a couples costume. It's always really fun.
7. She is always down for Starbucks dates, meals, or really anything else
If you don't want to eat alone or just need an excuse to get Starbucks, she's the first person to call. You know that you could talk about anything with her and spending any time with her is always fun.
8. She's there to protect you from all the creeps
Creepy guys beware, most Bigs can definitely channel their inner Mama Bear when someone is getting way to close to their Little. Even if you're perfectly capable of taking care of yourself, know that someone else is watching out for you and your Big knows that you would do the same for her in a heartbeat.
9. You can go days without seeing each other and when you do it's like you never spent any time apart
There are no words to explain how this works. The way you and your Big are together is something you can't explain. She's like your sister even if she is not biologically related to you.
10. You're a lot alike
You may be different majors and you may seem like totally different people sometimes, but you are probably more similar than anyone else realizes. It may be that you both love the same music, TV shows, movies, or books or it may just be that you're both always late. You can always say you got it from your Big
Sisters by chance, Big-Little by choice.
