Father's Day is a special day where you get to celebrate your father for all the amazing things that he's done for you. Here are some other reasons why Father's Day is awesome.

1. Seeing the look on your dad's face when you give him a present.

Whether you're giving him a copy of his favorite book, a gift card to his favorite coffee shop, or taking him out to eat, dads always love the presents their kids give them.

2. Remembering past Father's Days and thinking about all the fun times.

You can look back on past years and remember all the fun things you did and all the times when things weren't so fun. Either way, Father's Day is always a day to remember.

3. If your dad has passed away, you can take some time to honor his memory.

Some people don't get to spend time with their dad on Father's Day, so they can use this time to cherish his memory and spend time with their families.

4. You get to try to be the first one to wish your dad a happy Father's Day.

I have three siblings, so I always try to get up first and be the first one to wish my dad a happy Father's Day.

5. Your dad gets to tell stories about when you and your siblings were little.

Dads love telling stories from when they were just a young dad and you were just a wee baby, especially on Father's Day.

6. Your dad can tell you about all the times you were an ungrateful little shit.

Kids aren't always so magical, and sometimes they can be downright terrible. Your dad may take this opportunity to remind you about the times you were younger when you terrorized him and made him wish he could be not-a-father for just one day.

7. You get to compare you and your siblings' upbringings.

Your dad will tell a story of when you were a perfect little angel growing up, and your sibling was an absolute monster.

8. Your mom may feel a little jealous, but she will also use this opportunity to tell tons of stories too.

Whether it's Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, or just spring break, your mom will reminisce like never before.

9. You will learn things about your dad you never knew (or wanted to know).

Some things may be brought to light that are both unexpected and unwarranted, but either way, expect uncomfortable family secrets to surface with awkwardness and #noshame.

10. You will be reminded once again of how much you love your dad.

You have always loved your dad, but on this day, you remember all over again why he's the best dad in the world.

This article is dedicated to my dad, Adam Slate, who has always supported me and stuck by my side through thick and thin. I couldn't have asked for a better dad, and I wouldn't ever want to. Thanks for everything, Dad. <3

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
