College, the most stressful four (or possibly five) years of your life. From the max amount of credits a semester you are taking to your on-campus job to maintaining a social life and still trying to get eight hours of sleep a night, your plate is overflowing. Why add a relationship to that mix? College is pretty much that meme of the dog sitting in a room on fire claiming that he is fine, and having to think of another person along with caring for yourself is like the dog in that meme catching on fire with the rest of the room. 1. Not having to worry about labels
Are you exclusive? Are you FWB? Are you occasional hookups? Are you gonna meet their parents?
2. You don't have to worry about long distance during summer and winter break
"When are you coming to visit?" "Did you buy your plane ticket yet?" "You're really not gonna see me at all?"
3. 'Me Time'
You don't realize how much you appreciate alone time until it is a Wednesday night, all your housemates are out and you can sit around and do whatever weird stuff you feel like doing.
4. Not having to share a bed every night
Sure every once and a while you might have a guest but when you're single you don't have to try and figure out how you're going to fit two grown ass humans into a twin size bed.
5. When your single friends decide to go out, you can join them without feeling guilty
No longer are you required to check in with your significant other every 20 minutes, hell you can even leave your phone at your apartment if you wanted to.
6. You can go out!!
No one is going to tell you whether you can or can't go out on the weekends or even a Tuesday night if you wanted to.
7. You don't have 'outfit checks' when you go out
This isn't really a problem for guys but girls know what this mean. No one to tell you what you can and can't wear when you go out with your friends.
8. More money for food
When you are single you only have to worry about feeding yourself, which means more Chipotle for you on Sunday afternoons.
9. You can leave your phone at home worry free
You don't have to worry about answering your significant others texts every five minutes in the single life. So go ahead, leave your phone at home and go on a 10 mile hike.
10. Freedom in general
Along with going out whenever you want, you can just do whatever you want whenever and no one is going to tell you no because you have dinner plans. So go ahead, have that day old Chinese food while you binge watch SVU.
