10 reasons to be grateful in life every day
@Chemutai Kiplagat

Life is a race. In this constant battle of trying to achieve a place and name in this world, sometimes we tend to forget what is truly significant in our lives. We forget that most often it is those invisible things like love, relationships and hope that truly make us happy and fulfilled.

Sometimes, we need to reflect on real meaningful aspects of our lives and remind ourselves of those real reasons for which we have to be grateful in life.

Here are my ten reasons that make me feel grateful every single day:

1. I am thankful for my health. I have a heart that beats and legs that never stop taking me to places. I am grateful that my health allows me to explore new places and experience new things.

2. I am thankful for my mom; my person in life. No word in the world can describe my love for you. You constantly assure me that I am born for a purpose and help me challenge every obstacle with persistence and dedication. I am grateful for my dad who does not say much but I know loves his daughters and his wife a lot.

3. I am grateful for my sisters; two people who understand and put up with my every ridiculous drama in life. We have shared common experiences that only we can relate to and I truly appreciate that you still continue to be my biggest fan.

4. I am thankful for my friends who became a family. You lighten up my life with humor and knowledge and stick by me even when I am not so lovable. Sometimes, you understand me better than I understand my self and I appreciate that you took the time to really know me better than anyone else had. Thank you for being my family in a new city and I truly value those endless two am conversations.

5. I am grateful for those friends who remained loyal; who had my back and did not let misunderstandings rule over our friendship. Whether a random coffee date or a late night movie over a sip of wine, you make me feel settled and content.

6. I am thankful to that soul-sister who makes me laugh even in my most dull moments. Thank you for loving me despite our endless fights. Thank you for being so protective of me; whether it is saving me from my endless boy dramas or making me stop if I am doing something wrong. Life truly would not be the same without you.

7. I am grateful to the guy in my life who treats me with respect and truly makes me fulfilled. Thank you for teaching me what really matters and making me want to be a better person everyday.

8. I am grateful that I go to a college where I learnt to take chances and found my voice. I am truly thankful for the courageous and passionate women I have met in my college who challenge the societal norms and restrictions every single day.

9. I am grateful for those random acts of kindness that I encounter on my endless solo adventures. You make me believe that there is truly goodness in this world.

10. Lastly I am thankful for where I am today. I am blessed that I open my eyes to see what great opportunity it is to be alive. I am grateful to God for this beauty of life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
