10 Reasons Why You Should Be Single

1. Self Reliance

You only have to rely on yourself, because this is your life, not anyone else's.

2. No Vulnerability

You don't have to let anyone over the walls that you have built around yourself. There is no trust given, which eliminates getting hurt.

3. The Real Foundation of Your Life

When sh*t hits the fan, you can run to yourself. When the world is falling apart, you don't have to wait for someone who will never actually be able to fully understand or help you.

4. No Longer Constantly Getting Upset Over a Person

When they ignore you for days or don't have time for you anymore it won't matter because it doesn't happen when you're single.

5. No Worrying About Another Person

Just focus on your own life. There is so much stress in life, it is pointless to keep track of another person's life too.

6. Independence

You can do what you want when you want based on your own wants and needs. No asking if you can go out and see your friends, or interrogation about who you were with, what you were doing.

7. Money

All those hours you work? Every paycheck is either put right into the savings account or spent on yourself. You don't have to wait to be spoiled because you get to spoil yourself!

8. No Sharing Space

The entire bed is now yours. The entire blanket, all the pillows, and all the space. The bathroom isn't disgusting, there aren't socks laying around everywhere. Less laundry and dishes, and less food to buy.

9. Free time

Regaining a passion for the hobbies you lost track of during a relationship. How about being able to go to your favorite restaurant again now that you always get to choose what is for dinner. Plus, rediscover your favorite food that they hated.

10. Commitment

Commitment to yourself and your life. Making choices based on what you want and need versus sacrificing much of yourself for another person.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
