My roommate is wonderful, beautiful, and an every day inspiration. From our weekly crying sessions to getting excited about dogs every day, your friendship means more to me than you'll ever know, from gremlin to goblin

1. Weekly Crying Together

I love that someone can casually see me ugly cry at least once a week and it could be over anything from test anxiety to I'm overwhelmed because I saw a dog and got emotional. There's no one I'd rather pass a tissue box back and forth with.

2. Living in Our Absolute Mess and Being Perfectly Okay With It

Nine times out of ten, our room is filthy but somehow we're both okay with living in our mutual garbage heap.

3. Watching Random Things and Laughing Until We Cry at 2 AM

Everything from Lazy Town remixes to singing the Shrek soundtrack, I love laughing so much I'm crying with you.

4. Midnight Walks

Those times we can't sleep so we just wander and look at the stars.

5. You See Me In My Natural State Every Morning - You Deserve An Award

Monumental frizz, bleary eyes, and needing you to help me find my glasses every. Damn. Morning. You honestly need a medal for witnessing that on the daily.

6. Leaving Notes When One Of Us Leaves Before The Other

Often it's you leaving and me being mid five hour death nap, but there's nothing sweeter than a cute doodle of the gremlin (me) and the goblin (you), and yes, gremlins need a lot of sleep (even though you know it's just me running from things I need to do).

7. Speaking To Each Other In Spongebob Quotes

There's something special about having someone scream to you about chocolate in that voice, you know the one.

8. Sobbing Over Cute Dogs

Yanking out headphones to yell over a huge, fluffy dog or barging into the room because I just have to talk to you about this amazingly cute dog I saw, or catching each other at a weird emotional moment so we're reduced to tears over golden retrievers.

9. Celebrating Good Grades With Each Other

Nothing beats a good, gremliny hug because you aced that one exam you spent all week freaking out over.

10. No Matter The Letters

We went through formal recruitment together and supported each other through the nerves and the decision making and cried together getting the news of our bids, and I'll never forget that. We may be members of different sororities but our support is endless, no matter our letters.

Here's to you, my best friend

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
