So I would say that my dad is probably the best dad there is. I guess it is because he's the first one I saw when I came into this world. I knew he would be the man I'd love for the rest of my life unconditionally. Honestly, I really wish it was possible to put this into words how great he is and how much he means to me, but I can't really even come close. However, I can share why I think he's so great and will always be my biggest hero.
1. He's understanding
I've done some pretty stupid things in my life, and sure, he gets mad, but he is always quick to forgive and move on. Sometimes my explanations are really silly, but he always seems to be able to relate to my stories and my struggles.
2. He's talented
So remember when you were little, and you'd listen to your dad talk to coworkers, and he'd sound so intelligent and smart because you had absolutely no idea what he was saying? Yeah. I'm still this way today. He is so good at what he does that it amazes me.
3. He's funny
Some dads have a really odd sense of humor. He never fails to make me smile, that's for sure.
4. He's loving
My dad calls me while I'm at college. Some of my friends never hear from their dads, or maybe hear from them once in a while. Not me! I hear from him multiple times a week. It's really cool to have someone always curious how you're doing and how school is treatin' ya. I'm really lucky that my dad loves me so much.
5. He's humble
I learned how to be humble from my dad. I honestly did not understand why someone wouldn't want to brag about their triumphs and talents until my dad showed me that there are better ways to do so.
6. He's patient
When we screw up, he doesn't freak out or yell at us. Instead, he encourages us to try again or make it right.
7. He's encouraging
After the first few months of school concluded, I was a mess. I was afraid my grades weren't up to my own standards and that would cause me to not be successful later on in life. I called my dad and he was nothing but kind and encouraging. He told me everything was going to be okay and that my grades were probably not THAT bad. Turns out, my grades were great, and it was all in my head. But without his encouraging words, I probably wouldn't have performed as well this semester.
8. He's reliable
I have a lot of reliable people in my life, but the person who I find most reliable is my dad.
9. He's selfless
My dad does very few things for himself. I guess you could say almost every action he does is for someone else. I find this to be the most admirable quality that my dad has. I hope to someday obtain this wonderful attribute.
10. He's MY dad
Goodness, I couldn't imagine having a better father than the one I have. Through good times and bad, he never gives up on me. He is the most kind, caring, and wonderful person in my life, and I am so lucky to be his daughter.
I love you, Dad.
